Background

Qing Lin grew up in Mo City as a frightened, impoverished child of mixed human and Snake-People heritage. Her pale green scales and unusual eyes made her a target for human children and their families, who repeatedly beat her and carved wounds into her face because they considered her a “monster.” 19 20

Lin Chen finds her being abused in an alley and kills her tormentors. Although initially terrified of him and the bloodshed around her, Qing Lin accepts his outstretched hand after recognizing that he does not look at her with disgust or contempt. He carries her away, declares that nobody will bully her again, and places her in Xiao Yi Xian's care for treatment. 20

Cultivation Under Lin Chen
