Inside the AllSpark Company's technology lab, Belcher was building a mechanical skeleton at Violet's request. It wasn't the most common humanoid frame, nor was it a spider- or lizard-shaped robot. Instead, it looked like a rabbit's skeleton.

He had been optimizing the Matrix equipment when Violet suddenly showed up with Li Bai and asked him to build a bizarre intelligent robot. The most valuable part of an intelligent robot like this was its secondary Intelligence Sequence, but as long as Sarah was around, that cost was practically zero. It was Violet's strange requirements that were giving him a headache.

Intelligent machines didn't have to be humanoid. In fact, they were made humanoid mostly because it looked better and people found them easier to accept, despite being an impractical design. Now, Violet was asking him to make something even less practical than a humanoid robot.

With no other choice, Belcher continued building. The skeleton wasn't made entirely of metal. On the contrary, since it needed to be specially lightweight, a large proportion of its materials had to be nonmetallic. Only the key parts where the Energy Matrix needed to be installed required special alloys.

Even so, the rabbit-sized frame was incredibly heavy. A child definitely wouldn't be able to pick it up.
