Jacob previously belonged to the Sandbar Team and became its captain after surviving a team battle. He later left because religious disagreements with Jewish, Arab, and Egyptian teammates could not be reconciled; he chose departure over allowing the conflict to cause further casualties. 36

During a mission in Fallout 2, Jacob and the Sandbar Team aided the protagonist against the Enclave using improvised scrap-metal equipment. In the wasteland, Jacob encountered the Church of Atom, took control of it, established settlements for its followers, cleared nearby threats, and founded an orthodox church.
