|---|---|---|
| Self-cultivated Night Battle Qi | 1 | Born from Si Ming’s prolonged combat in an alien world; it manifests as a dark, silent aura and enables his shadow-assassin fighting style. |
| C-rank-or-higher combat capability | 5 | Its energy barrier is immune to Xenomorph acid blood; Si Ming estimates its strength exceeds the C-rank threshold. |
| Increased reserves | 9 | Si Ming’s total Night Battle Qi grows through the exhilaration of battle. |
| Peak C-rank / CC-rank threshold | 14 | The Main God’s Primary Necromancer Summoning grants Necrotic Aura reserves comparable to his Night Battle Qi, confirming the latter has reached the peak of C-rank. |
| Unstable Battle Qi vortex | 15 | Converting Necrotic Aura into Night Battle Qi massively expands its volume, allowing Si Ming to form an unstable vortex and perform powerful ranged release. |
| Complete, stable vortex | 16 | After studying Origin of Battle Qi and consuming a Three-Pattern Green Spirit Pill, Si Ming completes a self-sustaining vortex; the concentrated Qi shows signs of liquefaction and crystallization. |
| Strengthened after the Death Divinity expedition | 19 | Si Ming’s Night Battle Qi is significantly strengthened alongside his Necrotic Aura and First Stage Gene Lock. |
| Divinity Particle infusion | 20 | Its total quantity and base quality remain unchanged, but divine particles make the Battle Qi more agile; the veil can autonomously reinforce threatened areas. |
| Near BB-rank saturation | 33 | Converting all Necrotic Aura into Night Battle Qi cannot push it beyond the BB-rank level because Si Ming’s Battle Qi is already near saturation. |
| Near A-rank boundary | 34 | Its core becomes irregular, thorn-like, and crystalline. Si Ming judges it to be around the peak of Great Battle Master or the edge of Battle Spirit, with an estimated approach toward A-rank. |
Background / History
Si Ming developed Night Battle Qi through life-or-death combat in an unnamed alien world. By tempering his body, refining his martial skill, and forging a dark aura onto his blade, he gained a power that made no sound or light under cover of night. He incorporated it into an assassin-oriented combat style before returning to Earth and entering the Samsara World 1.
Although it resembles ordinary Battle Qi in its circulation, vortex formation, and martial applications, the Main God does not recognize it as compatible with standard intermediate or advanced Battle Qi enhancements. Conversely, it causes no conflict with otherwise mutually exclusive energy systems, bloodlines, or even blank-slate physiques 13 14.
This anomaly is explained when Si Ming discovers that Night Battle Qi can transform into Necrotic Aura and revert back again. The conversion allows him to fight and cast simultaneously, purge inert impurities from recalled undead energy, and recover usable energy more efficiently than a conventional necromancer 14 15.
Abilities & Skills
Internal, External, and Projected Battle Qi
Si Ming identifies three fundamental applications of Night Battle Qi 3.
- Internal Battle Qi — Circulates through his limbs and bones to greatly improve strength, stamina, perception, and awareness of his body’s condition.
- External Battle Qi — Forms a dark flame-like covering over his body, providing protection comparable to modern plate-and-chain composite armor.
- Projected Battle Qi — Can be fired outward, infused into objects, planted as a tracking mark, or detonated after entering a target or object.
Night Battle Qi Veil
The external form can conceal Si Ming’s body, aura, heartbeat, sound, heat, and general presence. Its stealth performance improves as night deepens, allowing him to evade Yautja thermal detection 3 11.
- A wisp left on an object or person lets Si Ming perceive its route and location until the Qi dissipates 3.
- The veil can completely erase his visible presence while infiltrating guarded locations 11.
- After absorbing divine particles, it can autonomously thicken around areas under attack for temporary defensive reinforcement 20.
Battle Qi Armor
At higher output, the veil develops into a tangible armor layer.
- As pure energy, it is immune to Xenomorph acid-blood corrosion 5.
- It can defend against explosive fragments and merge with Si Ming’s Nanosuit without being visible externally 29 34.
- Si Ming can pour its full output into physical enhancement during close combat 12 18.
Energy Conversion
Night Battle Qi can convert into Necrotic Aura and return to its original state without conflict 14.
- Converts temporarily inert Necrotic Aura into immediately usable Night Battle Qi.
- Purifies the mental-fragment impurities accumulated by recalled undead.
- Lets Si Ming sustain chains of Corpse Explosions and undead summoning so long as his stamina and mental focus remain sufficient 15 29.
- Can reactivate the supernatural organs and energy circuits of undead creatures, such as enabling a raised Wind Magic Wolf to fire Wind Bullets 15.
Battle Qi Release
Si Ming can release compressed Qi as ranged attacks or transmit it through weapons.
- Hundred-Step Divine Fist — A fist-launched projectile that crosses over ten meters and can blast a bowl-sized crater into the ground 15.
- Battle Qi Air-Piercing Strike — A more efficient force-exertion technique that destroys a target thirty meters away with greater range and power than the Hundred-Step Divine Fist 16.
- Weapon infusion — Enhances the sharpness, agility, and destructive force of weapons; excessive infusion caused his katana thrust to explode through Wolf’s heart 3 12.
- Remote weapon handling — An invisible Qi thread can pull the over-forty-kilogram Profaned Greatsword to Si Ming’s side 16.
Mobility Techniques
- Gecko Wall-Climbing Technique — Si Ming’s self-developed method of shaping Qi like an accretion disk, allowing him to move quickly and silently along walls and ceilings 11.
- Burst flight — By restructuring the outer edge of his Battle Qi armor into boiling energy, he can briefly fly roughly ten meters above the ground; the technique has severe energy consumption 34.
Five Strikes of the Cinder King
A developing Battle Skill created by Si Ming using the Origin of Battle Qi, the Profaned Greatsword, and Evil Explosion principles 34.
- Channels up to ninety percent of his Battle Qi through the greatsword.
- Produces a spreading vortex of Profaned flame that can crystallize the ground and tear apart or melt terrain over more than ten meters.
- Incorporating the Evil Explosion model greatly reduces the setup time and energy cost required to form its Burning Flame Cage 34.
Limitations
- Night Battle Qi is strongest at night; its concealment and external manifestation become more effective as darkness deepens 3 5.
- Large-scale techniques consume substantial reserves. Early fights against Xenomorphs consumed nearly one-third of Si Ming’s Battle Qi, while the initial Five Strikes test used roughly ninety percent 5 34.
- Its brief flight is less efficient than a conventional jetpack 34.
- Standard Intermediate and Advanced Battle Qi enhancements cannot be purchased using Night Battle Qi as a prerequisite foundation 13 14.
- Energy conversion and purification take time, even though they enable rapid recovery across both Battle Qi and Necrotic Aura systems 15.
Related Entities
- Si Ming — Creator and sole documented wielder of Night Battle Qi; he developed it through combat and continually refined its uses 1 37.
- Necrotic Aura — A fully convertible counterpart energy. Their interchangeability permits Si Ming’s hybrid warrior-necromancer combat style 14 15.
- Death Divinity — Its particles subtly alter Night Battle Qi’s responsiveness and grant the Battle Qi veil limited autonomous defensive behavior 20.
- Profaned Greatsword — A dark-energy-compatible weapon that amplifies Night Battle Qi and serves as the basis for the Five Strikes of the Cinder King 13 16 34.
Trivia
- Despite its name and Battle Qi-like applications, Si Ming himself suspects that Night Battle Qi is not truly ordinary Battle Qi 14 15.
- Its compatibility with every tested energy system is compared by Si Ming to the Gene Lock and the Light of the Soul 14.
- Song Tian identifies a strong warrior’s presence in Si Ming despite Si Ming generally serving as a summoning-type spellcaster 37.
