White Tower
Green Tree Castle Laboratory.
In the past, it was an extraordinary academy.
Some ancient rules, passed down within the Inner Circle, have remained largely unchanged to this day.
The Apprentice system is one such example.
Many members who join the Inner Circle need to choose a mentor.
With a mentor, they will truly embark on an extraordinary path, and even receive a great deal of extraordinary knowledge for free, without needing to exchange it at the White Tower.
Sulu, of course, would not refuse.
Rhode knew he should learn from his seniors, so he certainly wouldn't mind having another teacher.
Furthermore, this also represents a form of taking sides and forming an alliance. "So... I wonder if I could ask the professor to be my mentor?"
William smiled. "Because of my talent, I can't become an [Arcanist], I can only become a third-tier [Mage]! In fact... Lord Walter once intended to take you as Apprentice, but the requirements for [Arcanist] are too high, and it conflicts with other magical classes... What a pity."
The focus here is not on the [Mage], but on Lord Walter.
That's a real shame...
Sulu did indeed covet the title of [Arcanist], but upon hearing that there would be intense conflict, even affecting that person's plans to take on disciples, he couldn't help but feel somewhat regretful.
"Our Institute of Electrical Research doesn't have many members in the Inner Circle. I'll bring you the materials later. What you need to pay attention to is your first lecture; it's very important. According to unwritten rules, it will be seen as a sign that you intend to become a student of that particular professor."
William carefully reminded him, then led Sulu to the dormitory and turned to leave.
He is also an Inner Circle member, leading a research team in the Outer Circle, and is very busy every day.
If it weren't for Sulu's first time visiting, he might not have become the tour guide.
"Take care, Professor!"
Sulu politely saw him to the door, watching his retreating figure as he left.
Coming to his senses, he looked back at his dormitory room.
The layout here is similar to that of the Outer Circle, with bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, and a special secret room that can be used for extraordinary cultivation.
"Professor William doesn't seem too keen on taking me on as Apprentice... Is it because the previous background check made him feel uneasy?"
Sulu stroked his chin, put down his luggage, and wandered around the Inner Circle.
This place is somewhat like an academy, with several open classes each week, more like an interest group discussion format.
The White Tower, however, is the center of everything, shrouded in a powerful and mysterious protective force.
Sulu arrived at the White Tower, his expression slightly excited, and walked through the main gate.
Wave!
The instant he entered, his Inspiration immediately detected a glint of light on the badge on his chest, as if it were performing some kind of verification.
Immediately, without the slightest resistance, he entered without any hindrance.
The first level of the White Tower.
The space is vast and brightly lit, with towering bookshelves that resemble hills, and even ladders for people to climb.
"History, Social Sciences, Geography, Languages..."
Sulu glanced through them and found that most of them were still at the 'ordinary' level and did not have much information about the extraordinary side, but 'forbidden books' that are rarely seen outside were often on display here.
"The first floor of the White Tower is the public information area."
Remembering William's introduction, Sulu walked towards the marble spiral staircase on the second floor.
The second floor is equally unobstructed, but the space is slightly smaller, and there are far fewer books.
But here, occasionally, some books involving the extraordinary appear.
for example...
"A Brief History of the New Continent Occultism," "Identification and Processing Techniques of Thirty-Six Herbs," "A Common Extraordinary Creature"...
Sulu stared at the names on the spine of the book, almost wishing he could immerse himself in it.
He ran his fingers over each book, one by one, and suddenly, his expression froze:
[XP+1]
A small clue appeared before his eyes.
Sulu quickly glanced at the title page. "Rogol's Cookbook? How is that possible?"
Ordinary books, even if they record extraordinary information, may not necessarily provide experience.
Only materials that truly possess spirit, or some kind of mysterious power, can provide experience.
The only items that Sulu has seen that provide experience so far are the Black Death Society's <Rite of Death> and the Obsidian Pendant that records information about the [Planeswalker] class.
The latter's career progress analysis has been displayed on the Attribute Panel, but it has only just broken through halfway, and it seems to be getting slower and slower as it progresses.
"Unexpectedly... we found another one here."
He tried to pull the book out, but immediately felt some resistance in his hand.
A light screen appeared on the bookshelf. "<Rogol's Cookbook>, borrowing requires 2 points, and cannot be taken out of the White Tower!"
'Such high intelligence means that there's an AI, or a Tower Spirit, manipulating the entire Inner Circle of the White Tower and the Mist Lock?'
Sulu sighed.
Clearly, such highly intelligent operation requires the involvement of mysterious forces and cannot be widely adopted.
Otherwise, the world would have been completely different long ago.
'Perhaps... there's only one of its kind in the entire Federation.'
He glanced at the Two-Leaf Badge on his chest, then pulled harder and yanked the book out.
At the same time, the number on the badge immediately changed to 498.
With a hint of frustration, Sulu opened the book, then her eyes suddenly widened in surprise.
This is indeed a cookbook.
However, some of the dishes were actually made from extraordinary creatures or strange plants, describing some of their characteristics and even their weaknesses.
It's clear that the author of this book is a professional of considerable rank, and also a foodie.
Based on these extraordinary data alone, two points are definitely worth it... not to mention the experience points too!
Sulu lingered over the pages of the book.
Unlike other books, this one is clearly an original, with pages pieced together from numerous pieces of unknown paper, the handwriting is messy, and there are corrections.
As you read, a glimpse of experience begins to emerge.
'Could it be... that this book contains a vast amount of soul energy?'
Sulu found a table and began to seriously flip through the pages.
At the same time, the experience before us is also constantly leaping forward.
In the end, it increased by a full 100!
Sulu sighed contentedly as he returned the books to the shelf.
The Tower Spirit didn't notice as it absorbed the experience on its own. And this was the Inner Circle Green Tree Castle; even the first three levels likely contained quite a few books with mysterious powers.
That's enough for me to gain some experience!
'It was worth all the trouble I went through to sneak in, and gaining experience through reading is much better than fighting and killing...'
Sulu happily strolled around the second floor and found several books made of unusual materials. He didn't borrow them yet, but instead memorized their titles.
Before we knew it, we had reached the innermost part.
A row of iron railings separates a bookshelf from the other books, giving it a solemn feel.
"<Soldier's Training>, <How to Become a Spellcaster>, <Detailed Explanation of the First-Order Spell - Ice Trap>... Indeed, these are not simple supernatural materials, but rather professional information, books that teach people how to gain power."
The second level of the White Tower represents the limit for members of the One-Leaf Clan.
Here, they can access information on all sorts of extraordinary professions!
