The Remains
"Supernatural power? Control Humans?"
Sulu murmured something, but he himself showed no sign of anything amiss.
That's for sure.
When he saw this Erha during the day, it was just an ordinary husky.
Even if he now possesses a little bit of power, he can only hypnotize ordinary people at most. He would be helpless against a first-tier professional, let alone him.
The scene was extremely bizarre.
Isaac, the dog's owner, now seemed to have become the dog's servant, kneeling on the ground with his hands raised in front of him. If he still had a tail, it would probably be wagging at Harlock.
Harlock swept his gaze around with an authoritative look, ignoring Sulu was standing aside watching the show, and buried his head in his food.
'Did it encounter some magical event at night, while we were sleeping, and gain a little hypnotic ability?'
Sulu stared into Harlock's dog eyes, feeling as if he had seen through everything.
'More importantly... even after gaining superhuman abilities, the Erha is still Erha...'
Sulu couldn't bear to watch the husky's unseemly eating.
The next day, early morning.
"Aha..."
Isaac stepped out of the tent, stretched, and a strange expression appeared on his face. "I had a very strange dream last night... it was about you, Harlock, don't run away!"
He grabbed Harlock, scrutinizing the man's serious, dog-like face, then suddenly laughed, "I actually dreamt that I spent the whole night serving you meat... Goddess above, I can actually believe it a little..."
"I... I think I dreamed about it too."
James gazed at his surroundings, his eyes somewhat unfocused.
"Ah!"
Just then, Diana and Elizabeth, who were preparing breakfast, exclaimed, "Where's our meat?"
They prepared a lot of food for this camping trip.
But now, much of the meat and bones are a mess.
"Harlock! It must be you! Isn't it?"
Isaac glared at the husky and roared, "Look what you've done!"
"Wait a minute... the grill and pot have been used too, that doesn't seem like something a dog could do..."
John stared at the grill and said slowly.
The five people's gazes swept over each other, finally settling on Sulu.
"I... I really didn't do anything."
Sulu smiled wryly, touched his nose, and said, "Well, aside from always enjoying your performances."
"Bones! So many bones... and teeth marks on them..."
Soon, Isaac found the rock where Harlock had feasted the night before, saw the bones scattered all over the ground, and stared at Harlock with some suspicion.
"Woof... woof!"
As if encouraged, the Erha went behind a rock, picked up a bone, and wagged its tail in front of Isaac.
"It really was you, you meat thief!"
Isaac was so angry he wanted to grab a stick.
At this moment, Sulu suddenly stopped him. "Wait a minute... Look! Something's wrong with this bone!"
The meat bones scattered on the ground looked fresh, with bite marks from dog teeth on them.
But the Erha brought back was different; it looked like a thigh bone and was withered and yellow, clearly quite old.
"This looks like... a human thigh bone... I've seen similar specimens in medical school!"
Elizabeth, who had gathered around, screamed.
"Don't be afraid!"
James and John quickly reassured them, "There are so many of us... Could there have been a murder nearby?"
The two girls were deathly pale, clinging to their arms, trembling with fear.
"Judging from its yellowish color, it's definitely quite old... Isaac, Harlock have a habit of digging holes?"
Sulu took the withered bone from the Erha's mouth, examined it carefully, and a glint of light flashed in his eyes.
He had some doubts; these were the remains of a superhuman!
"Of course... you have no idea how badly it has ruined my garden!"
Isaac nodded repeatedly.
"Then it's clear... there's a grave nearby, Harlock unintentionally disturbed its owner!"
Sulu stated his deduction, but concealed the speculation that the tomb owner might be a person of extraordinary ability.
"My God! Grave robbing is a serious crime!"
In the Federation, such behavior is subject to both legal and doctrinal criticism and is considered very serious.
"But... but Harlock is just a dog!"
Isaac, the owner, stammered in his defense.
If something like this really happens, the dog owner is absolutely to blame.
"Alright, no one here blames you, and there doesn't seem to be a cemetery nearby... It must have been an accident. We can have Harlock lead the way to take a look!"
Sulu suggested.
His [Medium's ] senses were still intact, and he had already sensed a trace of the cold, sinister aura belonging to Wraith.
This means they've been targeted by something, and running away isn't a solution.
Although... he's just some insignificant nobody, he's more than enough to deal with ordinary people.
"I think... we should go and take a look!"
James offered his opinion. "What do you guys think?"
The two girls seemed to have recovered from their initial fear, their eyes blinking as if they were thinking about something, "We don't want to be left alone at camp, so..."
"If we're going, we'll all go together!" John concluded.
"Then let's go!"
The six of them set off with some simple tools, without even having breakfast.
Isaac led the way, directing the husky at the front.
After walking for half an hour, the group arrived at the foot of a small hill.
There were no signs of human activity in the vicinity, nor were there any signs of a cemetery.
A gust of wind blew by, making the place seem somewhat desolate.
Is this really the place?
Elizabeth tightened her clothes.
"Harlock ... take me to where this bone is, and I'll reward you!" Isaac gestured with the bone in his hand.
The husky wagged its tail happily and went to the other side of the hill.
Here, a collapse has clearly occurred.
Above the landslide, there was also a cave.
Harlock crawled inside, and soon dragged out a skull, its empty eyes seemingly watching over everyone.
"As expected... it's human bones..."
Diana's voice trembled slightly for some reason.
"The facts are clear: perhaps this person was just an ordinary victim, buried in the mound... The recent landslide brought his body to the shallows, where Harlock dug it out..."
Isaac, on the contrary, was somewhat pleased. "There's no cemetery nearby, and no signs... According to the law, this doesn't count as grave robbing!"
Hey bro!
John chuckled and stepped forward, punching Isaac lightly. "Even if you did it, would we betray you? Of course not! We're brothers!"
"No! I didn't do it, it was my dog..."
Isaac's rebuttal seemed rather weak.
At this moment, the husky dragged out even more things from the tomb, some of which were sparkly ornaments that attracted the attention of everyone present.
