New Recruit
"My Shadow Clone aren't high enough level yet, I need to upgrade them!"
Sulu glanced at the Attribute Panel.
After slaying dragons in the Dracula World and accumulating experience in Green Tree Castle in this world, I've unknowingly gained tens of thousands of experience points, which I can now squander.
[1600 experience points consumed... Shadow Clone level increased to LV5!]
Another Shadow Clone appeared and disappeared into the passage.
The sensation of disappearing came over me; clearly, this clone had failed again.
"No response at all... It seems to be dead or too far away?"
Sulu shook his head and continued to improve:
[3200 experience points consumed... Shadow Clone level increased to LV6!]
The appearance of a Shadow Clone gave Sulu a completely different feeling; it seemed that no matter how far apart they were, he could control it.
"Of course... that must be my imagination, but the control distance should have been greatly improved."
Sulu sent his Shadow Clone back into the passage.
The feeling of weightlessness came instantly.
Immediately, the Shadow Clone appeared in a dark forest.
Numerous strange branches grew into the shape of arms, pointing in various poses towards some point in the sky.
In fact, they point to the peak where the temple is located, but if others came, they wouldn't be able to find it at all.
Because that Mountain Peak has a strange rule of 'only visible when pointed out,' its full appearance can only be seen after someone points it out.
It's as if it didn't originally exist in this world, but only in data and memories!
In the Dream Spirit World, the rules between reality and illusion have long been distorted and broken.
"The Nia City outside is merely a city pulled into the Dream Spirit World. The Dream of the Ancient God here is the true dream of Sivinardo... and its core is clearly in the temple atop that Mountain Peak."
"Looks like... I'm pretty lucky? I seem to have found this place before everyone else?"
The Shadow Clone muttered to itself, glancing around.
Within the strangely shaped black forest, some Symbol Soldier had already discovered his presence and were attacking him in an encircling formation.
They are all manifestations of Sivinardo's knowledge, instinctively defending the dream, or one could say they are searching for a 'host' for knowledge.
The method is somewhat special; you have to kill a large number of them to piece together the scattered fragments into a complete 'knowledge'.
In other words, those who are not strong enough may be crushed by knowledge!
A group of Symbol Soldier with bound feet, wielding various weapons, created a rather comical scene.
Sulu's Shadow Clone possessed at least a fraction of his original strength. With a few charges and techniques like backstabs, it wiped out the dozen or so Soldier who were equivalent to first or second-tier professionals.
In his mind, some fragmented thoughts surfaced, completely unsystematic, and no hints appeared in the Attribute Panel.
"We haven't killed enough... After all, the real big shots are still on that Mountain Peak... Where are Dora and Angie? And what about the <Book of Nameless Necro-Spirits> I left behind..."
After resting for a while, Sulu immediately headed towards the black Mountain Peak.
Before long, the Mausoleum, or rather the temple, on the mountaintop, entirely paved with marble and adorned with numerous arched pillars, appeared before Sulu's eyes.
The temple was still surrounded by a dense array of symbols, stretching as far as the eye could see, blocking off all approaching space.
Sulu was astonished to discover that the defenses here were far superior to those he had encountered before.
Not only were there winged Symbol Soldier roaming in mid-air, but the closer one got to the temple, the more advanced the Soldier became.
In the end, they turned out to be white humanoid figures, like plaster statues, except that their surfaces were engraved with a large number of runes, and a great deal of knowledge shimmered on their bodies, exuding a powerful aura.
"Tier 4 professionals? Or a whole bunch of them?"
Sulu couldn't help but smile wryly, "If I had encountered a defense like this back then, I probably wouldn't have been able to escape at all... Sivinardo been resurrected?"
He vaguely felt that this was largely related to his Words of Arrogance in the Dragon World.
He was very patient, lurking in the shadows and observing. He discovered that these Symbol Soldier had not only become more numerous and stronger, but also much more flexible. They were no longer so rigid in guarding a single line; they even knew to split into patrol squads and patrol outside the designated area.
However, with the strength of this small team, they wouldn't be able to discover Sulu's hiding place. Even if they did, they would just be easy prey.
About an hour later.
Boom!
Just as Sulu's main body was about to enter, the Shadow Clone suddenly made a discovery.
Violent tremors and explosions were coming from the other side of the temple, and a large number of Symbol Soldier were pressing in that direction.
"Is someone attacking the temple?"
The Shadow Clone circled around and stealthily made its way there.
After crossing a hill, he saw an equally vast plaza behind the temple.
There, numerous Symbol Soldier are besieging a certain spirit.
The spirit was in the form of a woman, looking at the encirclement coming from all directions, but there was no worry on her face. Her scarlet lips were slightly curved, with a hint of a smile.
She suddenly opened her cherry-like mouth, but what she let out was a terrifying shriek that could shatter glass!
--"The Banshee Wail!"
Even from this distance, the Shadow Clone's eardrums throbbed with pain, and the approaching Symbol Soldier retreated continuously, shattering inch by inch.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the spirit killed several more Symbol Soldier and successfully escaped the encirclement.
"It's her! Angie?"
Sulu glanced at it and quietly followed.
"Very good... You've learned something new this time..."
On the other side, [Wicked Spirit] Angie descended the Mountain Peak with great satisfaction and wandered through the Black Forest.
Her and Dora's souls were originally very weak here, and could only be hunted down everywhere.
Until last time, when they met that Black Knight, he gave them a share of the Necro-Spirit profession.
Realizing there was no turning back, Angie and Dora could only grit their teeth and study the material. Due to certain special circumstances, they both progressed very quickly.
Furthermore, after encountering and defeating a large number of Symbol Soldier during an exploration, Dora realized that she had entered a treasure trove!
This is a divine legacy! Even if it's just knowledge, it's an opportunity that would make legendary and mythological professionals envious!
"Unfortunately... my strength is not enough. Each time I can only find an opportunity to ambush and obtain a few fragments... I also have to rely on luck to see if I can piece together a complete set of knowledge."
Even so, I feel my understanding of the mystical is deepening... but compared to the knowledge left by Sivinardo, it's probably not even one ten-thousandth of what I've gained. Is this the greatness of the gods?
Faced with Sivinardo's vast knowledge, she felt like an ant, especially recently. For some reason, the Symbol Soldier were not decreasing in number as she killed them, but instead increasing in number and becoming stronger!
"This is truly unsettling; it seems something has changed... Hmm? Who is it?"
The spirit's perception caused Angie to immediately look in a certain direction.
