The winding Gandaki River cut through this mountain forest. Nearly a hundred kilometers away lay Baglong Town, a Hong Alliance border base. Over a thousand self-propelled artillery pieces had assembled, while more than a hundred armored vehicles carrying over a thousand fully armed soldiers departed the camp along the twisting mountain roads.
The troops stationed at this military base were responsible for the entire defensive line stretching hundreds of kilometers. Their generation-ahead electronic reconnaissance capabilities gave the Hong Alliance Army a crystal-clear understanding of the enemy's supply movements and military deployments.
But the same was true for the Association's forces. With birds and small- to medium-sized mammals spread across the globe serving as biological monitors, the Hong Alliance's troop movements were no secret either.
Both sides had deployed their main ground forces along this hundreds-kilometer front within this small area. This would be a probing head-on clash.
The complex mountain and forest terrain reduced the combat effectiveness of long-range supporting artillery and auxiliary drones to its lowest point. As long as soldiers equipped with the Hong Alliance's Third-Generation Exoskeleton were not directly hit, their lives were safe. Naturally, the Xenomorph army designed to target these soldiers was much the same.
By the Gandaki River, a fifty-meter-long giant creature extended a blood-red tube from its mouth and continuously drew in river water. Thirty-two pipes across its body constantly spewed scorching steam, while its swinging tail scattered the mist around it. The swirling high-temperature vapor completely concealed the thousands of Xenomorphs following behind it.
Achilles flew above this mist stretching more than ten kilometers. He saw reconnaissance electromagnetic waves emitted by radar on the distant mountains, but the searing mist blocked the enemy's radar detection.
His brow furrowed slightly. They had already closed to within fifty kilometers. Then he saw thousands of
