The Unknowable, the Indiscussable

The paradox of self-reference defined the boundaries of reason.

In any mathematical system, there were always things that could neither be proven nor disproven from within the system itself.

It revealed that within human logic, an omniscient and omnipotent God did not exist, nor did absolute infinity.

If one forcibly postulated a sole God encompassing everything, creating an omnipotent God capable of breaking the paradox of self-reference, then that system was bound to be inconsistent, filled with contradictions.

Because God was omniscient and omnipotent, God could create a stone too heavy for himself to lift.

Because God was omniscient and omnipotent, the Peano Axioms could prove that 1 = 0.

After all, whatever God deemed so was absolute.

In a contradictory system, every proposition could be true and could also be false.

Within such an inconsistent system, none of its propositions could be distinguished as true or false, right or wrong. It was no different from a madman's ravings.

Such forced assumptions would only become a matter of pure theological faith.

This was also the greatest difference between mathematical logic and theology.

Theology denied the Law of Excluded Middle and the paradox of self-reference, directly accepting omniscience and omnipotence.

The first step to becoming a believer was abandoning one's own logical thinking, accepting that God was absolutely correct and could accomplish things that were contradictory under human logic.

Once one had accepted omniscience and omnipotence and allowed contradictions to exist, there was no need to continue the discussion.

The power of faith was formidable, and religion had left profound marks upon the history of humanity on Earth.

But the boundless universe inhabited by humanity did not care about the religious beliefs of billions of people on Earth. It had rules of its own.
