The last lesson in first grade Defense Against the Dark Arts, was about Werewolf, a creature Kyle was naturally familiar with.

It resembles a wolf, but can walk upright, has a slightly shorter muzzle, gray fur all over its body, and sharp, hooked claws on its hands.

This guy in front of me is definitely Werewolf.

But doesn't this creature only transform during a full moon?

What is this thing in front of us... a Sunlight Werewolf?

Kyle didn't have time to think. He quickly raised his arm, and the wand slid from his sleeve into his hand.

All descriptions of Werewolf share the same sentiment: their minds are chaotic, they lack reason, and they only instinctively attack any creature in their path.

This Werewolf was no exception.

It stared intently at Kyle, its eyes filled with cruelty and bloodlust.

There was nothing he could do; Kyle was the closest.

The Werewolf opened its mouth, revealing sharp teeth at least two inches long. Dusty saliva slowly dripped from between its teeth onto the brownish-red floor.

"Thud..."

"Roar!"

The moment the Werewolf pounced, Kyle uttered the spell first.

"Weak and powerless!"

"Thump..."

The Werewolf's movements froze, and its body uncontrollably fell to the side.

Thanks to Oren, who explained the characteristics of Werewolf in great detail during his last lesson, including valuable information not found in textbooks.

According to him, Werewolf usually choose to attack by leaping when facing prey, which is called a forward lunge.

A soft surface can cause them to lose their footing, making it perfect for this situation.

Although the Werewolf quickly got back on his feet, that was enough for Kyle.

He dared not return to Hagrid's ward; there wasn't enough time, and turning around to open the door would expose his back to the Werewolf.

Without hesitation, Kyle quickly took two steps back to create distance between himself and the Werewolf, while simultaneously raising his wand.

The floor in front of them began to rise, quickly forming rows of stone cones only a few inches high.

These stone spikes are not only sharp, but also very sturdy. Even a thick-skinned Werewolf would find it very uncomfortable to step on them.

It tried to get past the wall...

"Smack!"

Suddenly, a hospital room door was flung open, Hagrid's massive body appeared in the corridor.

He rushed out immediately after hearing the commotion outside.

Hagrid was also taken aback when he saw the Werewolf, but he quickly spotted Kyle not far away.

Hagrid's face began to flush rapidly.

"You monster, how dare you attack a little wizard!"

He ripped the door off and threw it out like a discus thrower.

"Bang... Ouch!"

Hagrid's aim was pretty good; the door slammed heavily onto the Werewolf, causing it to let out a howl of pain.

Even Kyle instinctively gasped; he had even heard the cracking sound of bones breaking.

Although the Werewolf was unconscious, its most basic animal instincts remained. It glanced at Hagrid in fear, then turned and ran.

Seeing the direction it had gone, Kyle's pupils contracted, and he shouted, "Hagrid, there are stairs there! We can't let it go that way!"

"I know."

Hagrid hurriedly gave chase.

But he was too slow; the tight hospital gown clung to his body like bandages, making it impossible for him to run, let alone catch up with a Werewolf.

Even Kyle easily overtook him.

"Kyle, come back!"

Hagrid could only run while tearing at his clothes.

"Damn it, haven't the St Mungo's's men arrived yet?!"

On the other side, Kyle, who had given chase, was equally uneasy. That was Werewolf, after all. If he got bitten... he could basically say goodbye to Hogwarts.

Unlike Lupin's situation, St Mungo's's group has so many people; if someone gets bitten, it's impossible to hide it.

But he couldn't just stand by and watch the Werewolf rush down to the first floor and attack those who were completely unprepared.

"Fortunately, there's still Hagrid."

Hearing the heavy footsteps behind him, Kyle felt much more at ease.

As the Werewolf reached the top of the corridor stairs and began to slow down, he immediately extended his wand.

"Impedimenta!"

"Depulso!"

The two spells struck the Werewolf one after the other. It paused for a moment, then slammed into the wall behind it.

Kyle looked back.

Professor Kettleburn was lying on his side in the corridor, holding his wand with his only remaining arm.

That Knockback Jinx was cast by him.

"What... what are you doing...?"

Just then, a childish voice suddenly rang out.

Kyle turned his head sharply and, without realizing it, a chubby, round-faced boy had suddenly appeared at the corner of the stairs.

He was holding a lunchbox, looking at them with a terrified expression; he was clearly frightened.

Not only Kyle, but the Werewolf also noticed the sudden appearance of the extra person.

A fierce glint reappeared in its dim eyes, and it struggled to pounce on the boy.

"Weak and powerless!"

The Werewolf, who had just stood up, staggered and fell down again.

Kyle waved his wand, turning an iron frame in the corridor into a sharp spear, and hurled it at the Werewolf with all his might.

The spear only pierced the Werewolf's skin slightly before it could go no further.

However, Kyle hadn't expected to succeed on his first try, so he immediately used another spell after throwing the spear.

"Depulso!"

Like a hammer striking a nail, the spear, imbued with Knockback Jinx, pierced the Werewolf's chest and pinned him to the ground.

"Kyle, get out of here... Ugh!"

Hagrid finally arrived. He looked at the Werewolf in front of him and silently lowered his raised arm.

It seems... we don't need him anymore.

"Could you please go find someone at the hospital?" Kyle looked at the little boy and said, "Tell them there's an out-of-control Werewolf on the second floor."

The boy seemed terrified by what he saw, Kyle had to call him twice before he reacted.

"Okay... okay..."

He glanced at Kyle in fear, then ran downstairs as fast as he could.

"I think he was probably frightened," Hagrid said from the side.

Let alone a child, even he was quite frightened just now.

"There's nothing we can do about it," Kyle shrugged. "Besides, being scared is better than turning into Werewolf."

At that moment, Professor Kettleburn, already wearing his prosthetic leg, limped over.

"I'm sorry, child, it was my carelessness."

"I should have just added another spell back then."

Kyle shook his head. "It's not your fault, Professor."

The Werewolf was already incapacitated; it only went berserk again after seeing the boy.

The boy was standing at the corner of the stairs, and Professor Kettleburn couldn't see him from his position at all.
