Asking the Way, New Student
After returning from Diagon Alley, Kyle put everything aside and enjoyed his remaining vacation time, while also testing the performance of his new broom.
A year later, Kyle finally got his own broom.
It's not the outdated Nimbus 1700, nor the more cost-effective Cleansweep Series, but the Nimbus 2000, which just went on sale a month ago and has become a sensation in the entire Wizarding World since its release.
This was also a birthday gift from Diana and Chris to him.
Because Kyle had been in Dorset, the gift had been sitting in his room until recently.
It must be said that as a broom that almost all professional teams are vying to buy, the Nimbus 2000 is indeed impeccable in terms of performance.
Not only is it fast and stable, but it is also very smooth to use. Kyle only needs to touch it lightly, Nimbus 2000 can turn in the direction he needs.
With this broom, Kyle could easily defeat the Weasley brothers even when facing two opponents at once in the Quidditch Triwizard Tournament at Ottery St. Catchpole.
The next day, Cedric finally returned from France and naturally joined Kyle's team.
One against two has become two against two.
Needless to say, Fred and George suffered a crushing defeat.
"This is not fair!"
George glanced at the old Cleansweep in his hand, sighed, and said, "The difference in brooms is too great. If we could also have a Nimbus 2000... or even Cleansweep 1500, you still wouldn't be able to win."
"That's not the most important thing, George."
Just then, Fred patted him on the shoulder and said quietly, "School's about to start, Kyle will definitely be playing for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team this year. That's not good news for us Gryffindor."
"Yes... you're right."
George sat down on the floor, looking somewhat dejected.
He certainly knew what Fred meant.
With the addition of Kyle, the Hufflepuff team can smoothly complete the transition between the old and new generations without being weakened too much.
But it's different for Gryffindor.
After Charlie graduated, Gryffindor simply couldn't find a suitable Seeker to replace him.
Unlike other positions, the Seeker requires a very high level of player talent, and there are very few players who can do that.
Seeker like Cedric, who displayed exceptional talent in his second year, is extremely rare, even on the entire Hogwarts.
Lee Jordan's talent was actually quite good; although he wasn't as good as Cedric, he wasn't far behind.
Unfortunately, he had already made up his mind to become a commentator.
Thinking of this, Fred and George exchanged a glance and sighed in unison.
And just like that, summer vacation came to a close.
On September 1st, Mr. Weasley once again drove them to King's Cross Station.
Inside the station, Kyle observed his surroundings, intentionally or unintentionally.
But when he got to the platform, he didn't see any boys wearing glasses nearby.
Did we arrive at the wrong time?
Kyle was a little confused, but didn't think too much about it.
At that moment, Mrs. Weasley suddenly asked, "Alright, which platform is this?"
"9!" Ginny blurted out, "Mom, can I go?"
"You're too young, Ginny, don't talk now." Mrs. Weasley glanced to the side and said, "Percy, you go first."
Percy walked onto the platform without saying a word.
"Kyle, it's your turn."
Kyle nodded and followed him inside.
The platform was already quite crowded. They found their friends and chatted in small groups about their summer vacation experiences.
"Sorry, Kyle."
At this moment, Percy, who was walking in front of him, turned around and said, "I have to go to the Prefect's car first. You know, the Prefect is responsible for maintaining order on the train, and there are many things that need to be prepared in advance."
As he spoke, he fiddled with the gold and red badge on his chest.
Percy has become the Prefect of Gryffindor, just as he wished, and he's been talking about it for over a month now.
"It's alright, you go ahead," Kyle said. "I'll wait for Fred and George."
"See you at school then." Percy fiddled with his Prefect Badge one last time, then picked up his luggage and headed for the train.
Kyle remained where he was.
For some reason, it took quite a while before Fred and George finally entered the platform.
Upon meeting, Fred said with a smile, "We've encountered a lost little wizard."
"Right after you and Percy left, Mom noticed her asking for directions to Muggle Platform 9."
George said, "That little girl is really persistent; she seems convinced there's a platform here with a sign that says '9'."
"That Muggle was furious."
"When we came in, we could still hear him complaining incessantly about how some people deliberately waste other people's time."
Little girl...
Kyle paused for a moment. Wasn't it Harry Potter?
Just then, two more people entered through the passage, one after the other.
They look like a father and daughter.
The man who came in first looked about the same age as Chris, with his hair neatly combed and wearing a sophisticated dark suit.
As soon as he entered, he curiously looked around at everything, finally fixing his gaze on the red Hogwarts Express.
Then, a little girl came in.
She was dragging a large suitcase, her thick, long brown hair disheveled and loose.
Upon seeing the girl, the man immediately extended his hand and said, "Honey, let me help you with the suitcase."
"No, Dad, I can do it." The girl shook her head and said, "I put a spell on the suitcase before we left, so it's not as heavy as it looks. You know, I've memorized all my textbooks."
"Yes, I know, but Hermione ..." The man hesitated, glancing at the large box.
He was the one who helped carry this box down at King's Cross Station.
Well... the weight is almost exactly the same as when I just finished cleaning last night, so the spell obviously didn't work.
"Wait a moment, Dad."
At that moment, the girl also saw Kyle and his two companions beside her, or more precisely, she saw Fred and George.
She walked over and said, "Thank you for helping me find the platform."
"You're welcome."
"It's nothing."
Fred and George shrugged dismissively, considering it a trivial matter.
"No, without your help, I probably would have spent much longer searching at the station." The girl shook her head and said, "I clearly memorized all my textbooks, but none of them had the platform location written in them—by the way, my name is Hermione Granger."
By the way, what are your names?
"Fred Weasley."
"George Weasley."
