Phoenix Feather as a Command Arrow
The fourth floor of the castle.
Neither the Weasley brothers nor Cedric noticed that as they hurriedly fled, the door, which had been opened, slowly closed again.
"Click..."
The tightly closed door blocked out Fluffy ' roar, and the corridor returned to silence.
Inside the door, Fluffy stood there, his three noses constantly sniffing at something in the corner.
As Fluffy drew closer and closer, its nose almost touching the corner of the wall, an arm suddenly stretched out from the air.
"Smack!"
The arm seemed quite disgusted by Fluffy's actions, and swung it around, slapping one of its dog heads.
"Get out of here!"
"Woo!"
Instead of getting angry after being slapped, Fluffy and excitedly approached.
It still remembered the voice and the taste; it remembered the person who could understand it and always brought delicious jerky whenever they met.
Fluffy happily joined in, the three big heads shoving and nudging each other.
"Alright, Fluffy... step back."
Left with no other choice, Kyle could only lift his Invisibility Cloak, pat Fluffy ' big head, and then take out three large bags of pre-prepared snacks from his pocket and place them on the ground.
All three heads have a share; there's no need for anyone to argue.
Fluffy quickly lowered his head and began to eat heartily.
This jerky was the most delicious food he had ever eaten, but Hagrid would never make it for him.
Just as Fluffy was eating, a series of hurried footsteps sounded outside the door.
"Bang..." The door was pulled hard.
"It's over, the door's locked." Ron's sobbing voice came from outside. "We're done for, we're going to die!"
"Oh... come here quickly!" It was a somewhat gruff voice.
Kyle glanced at the door, frowned, and put his Invisibility Cloak back on.
"The Alohomora!"
With a click, the door suddenly opened.
The next second, four panicked little wizards rushed in, then turned around, closed the door, and pressed their ears against it.
After a while, Ron said in a low voice, "He thought it was locked, I think nothing more will happen..."
"Ron, I have a bad feeling."
Harry took a deep breath and said, "Remember those roars we heard earlier? I think they came from this room... What's wrong, Neville?"
As they were talking, Harry noticed Neville tugging at his sleeve. He turned around and saw that Neville's face had suddenly turned deathly pale, and large beads of sweat were dripping from his forehead.
Without needing to be questioned, Harry quickly learned why Neville had become like this.
He saw the Three-headed Dog.
Disturbed from eating, Fluffy was extremely annoyed. It glared at the young wizards before it, and all three heads roared in anger.
Ron and Neville were stunned. They stood there dumbfounded, their legs trembling uncontrollably, even though they wanted to run away.
In the crucial moment, Harry reacted the fastest. He fumbled to open the door behind him, and together with Hermione, he grabbed Ron and Neville and ran out.
Fluffy didn't chase after him; he just gave a couple of token shouts before lowering his head to continue eating his jerky.
But Harry and his friends didn't know that, just like the other upperclassmen before them, they fled the fourth floor without looking back.
They ran until they reached the portrait of the Fat Lady, then stopped, panting heavily.
"Where have you all been!" the Fat Lady asked. "What day is it today? Including those two from earlier, there are six little wizards out for a night stroll."
"Don't ask..."
"Pig nose, pig nose..."
"Pig nose" was the password. The Fat Lady didn't ask any more questions and started spinning forward. They stumbled and crawled into the common room, trembling as they slumped into the armchairs.
For a long while, no one spoke, especially Neville, who seemed as if he would never speak again.
"That's strange..."
Hermione, having caught her breath, spoke first, "Did you guys notice? That dog was eating something."
"Yeah, it almost ate us," Ron said, still shaken. "It was probably thinking about how to eat us all in one bite."
"What are your eyes for?" Hermione snapped. "I mean, it was already eating three portions of packaged food before we even got in."
"What does that prove?" Harry asked.
"Can't you guys use your brains?" Hermione said impatiently. "Remember all those roars we heard on the road?"
This means that someone had been in that room before us, and that person even appeased the Three-headed Dog with food; he must have done it for a reason."
"You're overthinking it. We should be thanking him," Ron said, patting his chest. "If he hadn't brought food to Three-headed Dog beforehand, we probably would have..."
"Didn't you notice where Three-headed Dog was standing?" Hermione demanded.
"On the floor?" Ron said nonchalantly, "I wasn't looking at its feet, I was too busy looking at its head. You probably didn't notice, it has three heads."
"Not on the floor, but on the Trapdoor; it's clearly guarding something."
"Guarding the things?"
"Yes!" Hermione stood up, glaring at them angrily.
"If you two don't mind, I'm going to sleep now... lest one of you come up with some brilliant idea to get yourself killed, which might make things worse... get fired!"
Ron stared at her retreating figure, his mouth agape in astonishment.
"She should really think carefully before she says which is worse."
On the other side.
After Harry and the others left, Kyle lifted the Invisibility Cloak again, walked over to Fluffy, and tried to open the Trapdoor beneath it.
At first, Fluffy held on tightly, refusing to let Kyle pass.
It wasn't until Kyle took out Fawkes's feather that it moved its paw away.
"See, I told you I came on behalf of Dumbledore, but you wouldn't believe me."
Kyle said sternly, "As punishment, you won't get any more Murtlap jerky next time."
Fluffy panicked as soon as he heard this, and started throwing a tantrum on the ground. Then he went over to Kyle and looked at him pitifully with his three big heads.
If a tabby cat made that expression, Kyle would be absolutely powerless against it.
But Fluffy was just too ugly and not suited for this kind of route at all. Kyle only glanced at him once and felt a throbbing pain in his forehead.
To get some peace and quiet, and also for the sake of his own eyes, Kyle could only casually pull out a large bag of Murtlap jerky and throw it aside.
Fluffy ran over happily.
Kyle ignored it, opened the Trapdoor, and glanced down.
It was pitch black underneath, and you couldn't see anything at all.
