Mad Girl Luna
Harry thought it was some kind of little bug, and instinctively reached out and scratched his ear a couple of times, but even after scratching his ear until it turned red, he still couldn't find anything.
He wanted to ask what Wrackspurt was, but Luna had already skipped back to Mr. Lovegood.
The little girl looked at the bump on her father's head in surprise and even reached out to touch it.
"Ouch..." Mr. Lovegood winced in pain, his neck hunched over.
"I'm sorry, Daddy..." Luna quickly apologized, but soon she couldn't help touching it again.
"Was that caused by Crumple-Horned Snorkack? You've already seen it?"
These words seemed to possess some kind of magic; Mr. Lovegood's pain vanished instantly. He stood up from the ground and patted his striking yellow robe.
"Luna, I didn't see the Crumple-Horned Snorkack. But I think it must have noticed we were looking for it, which is why it brought this little gift."
"You're so amazing, Dad!" Luna happily spun around twice.
Their conversation left Harry even more confused.
Could it be... that the bump on that man's head wasn't caused by me hitting him with the Gnome?
Harry looked around and quickly found the Gnome on the ground nearby, grumbling and walking back.
That's right... the Gnome are all here.
But why did he say it was the horned beast that smashed it...? And what exactly is this horned beast?
Harry scratched his head, suddenly feeling like Muggle who knew nothing.
Ron and the others beside him had similar expressions.
The only exception was Kyle, who asked with some curiosity:
"Mr. Lovegood, did you find the Crumple-Horned Snorkack this time?"
"Just a little short," the man said regretfully. "We only found traces of it in the southern valley; it seems it has already gone somewhere else."
"I just found this too." Luna held up half a leaf in her hand. "The leftovers from the Crumple-Horned Snorkack ... Dad, it must have passed through here when it left."
"You're right, Luna," Mr. Lovegood sighed. "We shouldn't have left."
"Can I see that leaf?" Kyle suddenly asked.
"Of course." Luna happily handed the things she was holding to Kyle. "Are you also interested in the Crumple-Horned Snorkack?"
"In fact, I'm interested in all Fantastic Beasts."
Kyle took the leaf and examined it closely in the moonlight... but soon, his expression became somewhat strange.
These bite marks... if Mr. Lovegood and Luna could find some time to visit the Burrow, they should be able to find what they're looking for.
These leaves are clearly just potato sprouts that have been half-eaten by Gnome. They're everywhere in the garden in front of the Burrow. If you really want them, you can buy them by the pound.
"Kyle, don't move, there's a Wrackspurt next to your nose... Oh, it's gone again."
"What?" Kyle handed the potato sprouts back to Luna. "What's Wrackspurt...?"
"A kind of flying House-elf," Luna said. "Wrackspurt like to dance around relatively intelligent people, distracting them and making them forget what they were going to say. It's quite rare."
"Dad, did you see it just now?"
"I must have missed it while I was tidying my clothes," Mr. Lovegood said regretfully.
Kyle didn't pay much attention, after all, they often came up with names that were hard to understand. Even if Newt came, he'd be left with a head full of question marks.
"Mr. Lovegood ..." Kyle changed the subject, "Luna should be going to Hogwarts this year too, right?"
"I just received her acceptance letter three days ago," he said happily. "That's wonderful news. I'm currently gathering materials to make her a pair of amazing glasses as a gift."
"You'll be able to see the Wrackspurt once you wear it..." Luna said.
Kyle twitched the corners of his mouth, giving a polite smile.
In fact, he didn't want to touch any of the Lovegood family's gadgets, because that would make him look silly.
The three chatted for a few more minutes before Mr. Lovegood and Luna hurriedly left.
On the way back to the Burrow, Harry couldn't help but ask, "Ron, who were those two people?"
"The Lovegood family," Ron said. "They live in a house that looks like a chimney on the north side, with a big wooden windmill in front of it."
Oh, by the way, Mr. Lovegood is also the editor-in-chief of * the Quibbler *.
"The Quibbler?"
"It's a very strange magazine," Ron explained. "Most of the content is nonsense, so basically nobody reads it."
"Oh." Harry nodded, seemingly understanding, and continued, "By the way, the harassment she mentioned... a horsefly? Is that what it's called? What exactly is it?"
As he spoke, he subconsciously touched his ear again.
"Oh, and that horned beast... I've never heard of it before. Are they Fantastic Beasts too?"
"You don't need to worry about that at all."
Ron waved his hand dismissively, "That's Luna, the Loony. Everyone knows that. There are no Wrackspurt in the Wizarding World."
"Loony?"
"Yeah, that's what everyone who knows her calls her. She's like that magazine—she likes to talk nonsense."
Ron said with his hands behind his back, "In fact, not many people are willing to have contact with the Lovegood family. Only Kyle will say a few words to them."
But I dare say, even Kyle wouldn't understand their language.
Although it was somewhat impolite, Harry recalled Luna's behavior earlier and inexplicably felt that the name "Loony" was quite fitting.
"What a strange family," Harry murmured. "Have they always been like this?"
"It was better before; we even had meals together, but since two years ago..."
Ron suddenly looked around and lowered his voice, saying, "They've been like this ever since that explosion two years ago. Mom has invited them over several times, but they've always refused."
"Explode..."
"It's said that something went wrong with the magic experiment," Ron sighed, and said softly, "Kyle warned them so many times before that they had to be careful when conducting magic experiments, even I remembered it..."
"Ron!"
Just then, Ginny stormed over and said angrily, "Have you forgotten? Mom forbids us from telling anyone about this."
"I remember..." Ron argued, "But this is Harry, not someone else."
Normally, Ginny would blush and run away upon hearing Harry's name, but this time she remained standing there, staring at Ron with an unfriendly gaze.
"Fine, I won't say anything then..." Ron turned his head away and muttered under his breath.
