Rescue and Tree Net
Later that evening, Charlie arrived. He looked more tired than the others, his face as pale as overcooked cabbage.
"I flew for more than thirty hours!"
During dinner, Charlie couldn't help but mutter, "And we also have to keep an eye on the Dragon ' location at all times, lest we get bitten in half or knocked away."
I think all the Quidditch teams should come here for some special training. Riding broomsticks through seven or eight Dragon is much more effective than training on the pitch."
"They just want to play Quidditch, not risk their lives..." Kyle laughed. "Besides, the nature reserve probably wouldn't agree to it anyway."
"Yes, you're right. It's a real shame they missed a fantastic training opportunity."
Seeing Charlie's listless appearance, Kyle handed him a mint-flavored popping candy.
"Want some? It's not as good as a wake-up potion, but it should make you feel more alert."
"Thank you, I needed it." Charlie took the mint.
A moment later, a muffled sound came from his mouth, and his whole face puffed up, making him look like a giant toad.
Charlie was shivering and quickly rubbed his face with his hands.
"That feels so much better." He took a few deep breaths. "It's amazing. I used to hate mints the most."
"Tastes always change," Kyle said.
Charlie raised an eyebrow and smiled, "So, you'll like Licorice Candy from now on?"
"Let's forget about this!" Kyle said immediately.
"What a pity, you missed out on a delicious treat."
The Weasley family children were all big fans of Licorice Candy, including Harry. On the train, one of his and Ron's essential snacks was his Licorice Wands.
So usually, Kyle would pick out the Licorice Candy he received and give it to them as an extra gift on different days... such as Christmas or birthdays.
Oh, and now...
Charlie left shortly after dinner because he needed to patrol the reserve that evening.
Kyle gave him a big bag of candy.
While there are wizarding communities and shops near the Dragon Sanctuary in Romania, they primarily sell various types of alcohol, ores, Potions, and magical items.
Candy, which is readily available at school, has become a rare commodity here.
It's not that we don't have them, it's just that buying them is quite a hassle. Not only do they need to be delivered by owls from a very far place, but the variety and taste are also much worse than those from Honeydukes.
After Charlie left, Kyle returned to the tent.
There were quite a few people there, including Newt.
There was no sign of fatigue on their faces; they were chatting happily together, just like when they arrived a few days ago.
The topics were all related to Fantastic Beasts, ranging from experiences treating Dragon to postpartum care for Tebo Warthog —there was a whole range of opinions.
Kyle stood silently next to Newt, learning quite a few useful little-known facts along the way.
Professor Locknir even said that he accidentally discovered a completely new Fantastic Beasts while in the Barisan Mountains; it was enormous and had four arms.
Before coming to Romania, he had already compiled relevant materials and pictures, and it wouldn't be long before they were published.
Everyone seemed very interested, Newt was also somewhat tempted; it was clear he really wanted to go and see that place.
Of course, this will have to wait until Lockneil publishes the relevant information.
The Dragon will have a slightly longer rest period this time.
Everyone stayed at the venue for three whole days before the surrounding area became lively again.
Kyle and Newt returned to the hill they had visited before.
The area they were in charge of was planned before they arrived, probably to accommodate Newt's age. This place was a bit further away from the highest cliff, making it much safer.
It's just a bit boring...
The fighting continued for several days in a row.
But this time, there were significantly more Dragon that failed and were eliminated than before, Kyle could hear that hissing sound almost every day.
However, there are exceptions.
The next day, a Romanian Longhorn, exhausted, was struck on the head by a tail from the Ukrainian Ironbelly. Its eyes rolled back, and it fell straight down from mid-air.
The location was right near the hill where Kyle and Newt were.
Whether it didn't hear the surrender, or got carried away, the Ukrainian Ironbelly hovered in the air for a moment before swooping down.
Newt frowned, then quickly Apparition to the Romania dragon, pressed his wand against its throat, and made short, sharp sounds, trying to convey its surrender.
But it was no use; the sound he made was very different from that of the Dragon, in other words, he had a very heavy accent.
Under normal circumstances, the Ukrainian Ironbelly might understand what this meant, but now it was clearly a bit out of its mind and couldn't hear Newt and Kyle at all.
"This is troublesome!" Newt's expression turned serious.
If it were to come crashing down, its nearly six-ton weight alone would crush the unfortunate Romanian Longhorn.
Moreover, he cannot use most of the spells that prevent this method.
Because that would damage Ukrainian Ironbelly and affect its subsequent battles.
As mentioned before, human wizards cannot participate in battles between Dragon, for whatever reason.
"A thick fog!"
Left with no other option, Newt conjured a thick fog around him in an attempt to obscure its vision. Then, with a flick of his wand, he managed to push the Romanian Longhorn on the ground forward a short distance.
Kyle also cast Softening Charm and Swamp Charm on the ground beneath it, which should provide some cushioning.
Almost simultaneously.
Suddenly, the surrounding trees stretched out, as if they had become huge, thick "ropes" that reached into the mist and intertwined into a giant net.
"Creak..."
With a series of teeth-grinding sounds like firecrackers, the "tree ropes" snapped one after another, but new ones were quickly brought in to replace them.
Finally, the Ukrainian Ironbelly came to a stop less than two feet off the ground.
Its claws were almost touching the Romanian Longhorn's tail; if it had actually landed, the Dragon Sanctuary would probably have gained another tailless dragon.
The Ukrainian Ironbelly struggled for a while, then gradually regained its senses. It roared in dissatisfaction, broke free from the netting blocking its path, and took to the air again.
"That was close, just a hair's breadth away." A familiar voice came from behind.
Chris put away his wand and walked over to the two of them; the tree net they had just seen was the one he had made.
