The afternoon session was a lesson in Ancient Runes.

This year, Professor Babbling still couldn't persuade Dumbledore to agree to let her combine classes from several grades into one.

This displeased Professor Babbling, who then passed that displeasure on to her students.

"What is the effect of different arrangements of the Ancient Runes on the completion of the symbol?"

Looking at what they were going to learn today, Qiu felt her head starting to swell.

"But Professor..." she raised her hand and said, "Isn't this the last thing we're supposed to learn? Today is only the first day of school!"

"Well, you all did very well last school year..." Professor Babbling blinked her gray eyes and said with a smile, "So I've decided to skip the unimportant details and spend more time teaching you something real."

"Look here, everyone. There are many components to this symbol. Let's start with the most complex one..."

Autumn's head is spinning again.

When Professor Babbling drew the symbol, she could no longer understand it. She could only try her best to listen and frantically write down everything.

Kanna next to her was doing the same thing; her hands never stopped, and her quill was practically sparking from the parchment.

When class ended, Kanna and Qiu breathed a sigh of relief as if they had escaped a disaster, and rubbed their wrists at the same time.

After taking notes continuously for an entire class period, their hands felt numb and painful, almost to the point of losing all feeling.

At that moment, Kanna inadvertently noticed the parchment on Kyle's table; it was completely blank, without a single word on it.

"Kyle, did you understand everything?" she asked.

Upon hearing this, Qiu turned to look at Kyle, her expression as if she were looking at a monster with eight arms and five heads...

Anyway, it's not human.

"You understood everything? No, I didn't." Kyle shook his head. "This part requires gradual accumulation. Professor Babbling talked about so much and so many different things; how could you learn it in just one lesson?"

"Then why didn't you take notes?"

Kanna asked doubtfully, "Didn't you hear me? Do you want me to copy it?"

She pushed her thick stack of parchment towards Kyle, "But I didn't hear a lot of it clearly, so it might not be complete."

Me too.

Qiu also brought over her stack of parchment, "You can compare them while you're copying, and if there are any differences, you can mark them for us..."

Qiu felt her head was throbbing and dizzy, and she didn't want to look at any more of this content for a while.

"No need, I'm not going to take notes."

Kyle looked at them and said, "And I never thought of it that way from the beginning, otherwise I would have written it all down with Quick-Quotes Quill."

"Oh... Quick-Quotes Quill..."

Qiu clutched her hair, letting out a painful whimper, "Damn it, how could I forget this!"

But Kanna suddenly realized something and frowned, saying, "You... aren't you going to take notes?"

"Yes."

Kyle shrugged and placed a thick book on the table.

<The Evolution of Magical Rune Symbols>

"Someone recommended this to me last school year, so I borrowed it from the library. The loan period is one year."

As he spoke, Kyle turned to a page in the book, pointed to the contents, and said, "Look for yourselves, isn't this exactly the same as what Professor Babbling said?"

"And these places too..." Kyle turned a few more pages.

Two heads simultaneously leaned in...

After a moment of silence, the atmosphere suddenly became somewhat eerie.

Kanna and Cho appeared on either side of Kyle, the air pressure around them was terrifyingly low.

"You have one minute to explain." Kanna bared her teeth, glaring fiercely at Kyle.

Qiu's hands clenched into fists. "Give us a reason not to kill you."

"No... this has nothing to do with me. I warned you."

Kyle looked at Kanna, "I've told you at least three times, this information is in the book, you don't need to memorize it, but you don't listen. Every time you tell me to shut up and not bother you."

"And you went even further." He then looked at Qiu on the other side, "When I saw you weren't reacting, I nudged your arm, and you actually tried to kick me... Luckily, I dodged quickly."

Kyle lifted the hem of his robe, where half a shoe print could still be seen.

Qiu's face flushed red, and she stammered, unable to speak.

Now that she heard that, she did remember something like that, but Professor Babbling was getting to the crucial point and she hadn't paid attention to what Kyle was saying; she had reacted instinctively.

Another silence fell...

Qiu and Kanna silently picked up their notebooks, then turned around and rushed out of the classroom.

By dinnertime, they had already borrowed the book from the library and were sitting at the table reading it.

For books on professional knowledge like these, the library has many copies of each type, so there are rarely any queues.

Seeing that they were engrossed in watching, Kyle didn't disturb them and went to sit down next to Cedric.

The Great Hall was unusually lively tonight, especially the Gryffindor and Slytherin tables.

Even from a great distance, Kyle could hear Ron's loud voice...

He was excitedly showing off something to Fred.

"The first time I saw the little Unicorn, you would never guess, it was golden!"

"Hagrid is amazing..." Hermione chimed in. "I read in a book that baby Unicorn are very rare; they are usually kept deep within the forest and are kept under strict protection."

"I even held it..."

Ron squinted, his expression somewhat lewd. "I don't want to wash my hands again this school year."

Fred and George took a step back in disgust.

Have you noticed Malfoy?

Harry was also very excited. "He'd been giving Hagrid a hard time ever since we got to the paddock, but he shut up after seeing the little Unicorn."

"If you ask me, Hagrid shouldn't have let a guy like him touch Unicorn..."

"Ron, Hagrid is a professor now!" Hermione protested. "He has to treat every student fairly."

"Yes, you're right..." Ron said nonchalantly, "But Snape obviously doesn't think so."

"My God, Unicorn!"

Cedric overheard their conversation and gaped in astonishment. "Incredible! We were just Bowtruckle and Puffskein in third grade, and last year we were Salamander!"

"Do you think it's only like this in third grade, or is it the same for all grades?"

"I don't know," Kyle, looking at the lively Gryffindor and Slytherin. "But you could ask him."

I'll go first thing tomorrow morning.

Cedric was still somewhat incredulous. "How did Hagrid manage that? Unicorn are very wary Fantastic Beasts. I've never heard of anyone seeing them in class before, let alone cubs."

Kyle was eating a steak and didn't say anything.

He wasn't surprised that Hagrid was able to bring back Unicorn.

If there's anyone at Hogwarts that Unicorn can trust so much, it can only be Hagrid.

Even Professor Kettleburn before his retirement couldn't do it; otherwise, he wouldn't have had his stomach pierced.

"This year's classes have been fantastic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and the Care of Magical Creatures ..." Cedric said excitedly, glancing at his schedule. "It's a shame we don't have Hagrid's class until Friday."
