Vampires are a topic covered in the third-year Defence Against the Dark Arts, which Kyle also studied last year.

Although Lockhart is quite unreliable, at least the content of his books is not false.

Besides the "Lockhart's Smile," an unreplicable weapon of mass destruction, there are many legitimate ways to deal with those dark creatures.

"Garlic emits a smell that vampires hate the most, much like the smell of compost in a greenhouse."

On the way to the library, Kyle told Neville, "You can wear it around your neck, or you can rub its juice on yourself."

"Of course, eating is no problem. If you eat enough to become like Quirrell, reeking of garlic wherever you go, then even if you offered your neck to a vampire, they wouldn't even glance at you."

"I see..." Neville said suddenly, "I remember now, Professor Lupin seemed to have said the same thing."

"But that only applies to general situations," Kyle continued. "If you encounter a vampire who has been starving for a long time, or one with a particularly unique taste, even turning yourself into garlic won't help."

Neville nodded repeatedly, and with Kyle's help, he quickly finished his Defence Against the Dark Arts homework.

He looked up, hesitated for a long time, and then suddenly whispered, "Thank you..."

"What?" Kyle was working on his Divination Class and didn't hear him.

"I mean, thank you..." Neville added, "It's been a long time since I lost the password and nobody's been willing to talk to me."

"Besides Hermione, you're the second."

"That's because you haven't been doing it the right way." Kyle looked up. "If you said to Fred and George, 'Your pranks are no fun at all,' they could talk to you about it all day long, or even longer."

Or you could talk to Harry and tell him you saw a really pretty girl in Ravenclaw; he'd be happy to chat with you about it for hours.

"Huh?" Neville blinked. "Is it that simple? But I think Harry doesn't really like being with me. He kept making up excuses to separate from me."

"Perhaps he just has something else on his mind." Kyle put down his quill and put away his completed homework.

Looking at the time, there were less than ten minutes left until the hour Snape had requested.

"Just in time."

Kyle stood up and explained to Neville, who was looking at him with a puzzled expression, "The second half of the detention session, to the underground classroom."

Want to come along? You're free anyway, and I think Professor Snape wouldn't mind if I brought someone with me."

"No, no." Neville shook his head rapidly, frantically grabbing the quill pen, nearly knocking over the ink bottle.

"I... I still have a lot of homework to do, you go ahead."

"That's a real shame." Kyle didn't say anything more, packed his things, and left the library.

Sitting in his seat, Neville wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and breathed a sigh of relief.

After leaving the library, Kyle walked through the Entrance Hall and made his way to the underground classroom.

Because of Hogsmeade Visiting Day, most students were not at school. Even the usually bustling Entrance Hall was deserted, and the underground classrooms were even less so.

Along the way, Kyle could only hear the sound of his own footsteps.

He was going to the third classroom, which was in the middle of the corridor.

When Kyle opened the door, Snape was already there. He looked at Kyle expressionlessly and said, "Why are you so late?"

"There are two minutes left in one hour, Professor," Kyle said.

"Thank you for reminding me, but I think I'll keep an eye on the time," Snape said.

"I'm sorry, Professor, I meant to come earlier," Kyle continued, "But I was worried that arriving too early might disturb you..."

"You've thought of everything," Snape drawled. "Should I thank you?"

"No need, it's all the least I can do." Kyle turned his head away. "Of course, if the professor insists on giving me a pint of Felix Felicis as a token of my gratitude, I wouldn't feel comfortable refusing."

Felix Felicis?

pint?

Snape's eye twitched; he'd never heard of anyone Felix Felicis by the pint...

He thought Felix Felicis was something like Pumpkin Juice.

"Looks like I'll have to get Madam Pomfrey to take a look at your head," Snape said, pointing. "But that's for later. Now go and clean the cauldron and bring it here."

Following Snape's finger, Kyle saw a cauldron that was larger than normal in size, containing some pungent brown liquid.

"Scourgify." Kyle took out his wand.

The liquid inside was completely drained, and the crucible became clean immediately.

Kyle turned around, thinking that Snape wouldn't agree to do it and would insist on wiping it by hand... but to his surprise, Snape didn't say anything.

"What are you dawdling for? Hurry up and bring the crucible over."

"Oh, okay."

It's always good to save trouble, Kyle picked up the crucible and placed it in front of Snape.

"Professor, may I leave now?"

"Of course...no!" Snape sneered. "You don't think I sent you here just to clean the cauldrons, do you? My confinement won't be that easy."

He took out his wand and casually pointed it, piling a large pile of Potions ingredients on the table in front of Kyle.

"Get these things sorted out; I'll need them in a bit."

Snape's lips curled into a cold smile as he looked at Kyle with a sinister gaze. "Remember this well, I'll only say it once... If you do anything wrong, or don't handle these things as instructed, I won't remind you again."

However, that means you might be one less professor going to be in the future."

Listen carefully...

Grind lionfish bones into a fine powder, slice ginger root, add three drops of Armadillo Bile, three drops of Mandrake juice, and only the topmost part of the wolfsbane leaves, ensuring they are completely undamaged...

Snape spoke very quickly, as if afraid that Kyle might remember it.

Fortunately, Kyle had a good memory and remembered everything he said.

After that, he silently began processing the materials.

Just as he finished grinding the lionfish bones into a fine powder and was about to cut the ginger root, Snape spoke again.

"Now, put the lionfish bone powder into the crucible..."

Kyle nodded and poured all the powder from a dish into it.

Soon, the liquid in the crucible turned a beautiful orange color.

"Professor, may I ask what kind of Potions this is?"

"Oh?" Snape raised an eyebrow. "Our perfect scorer can't even tell what this is?"

"It's definitely not something we're going to learn," Kyle said. "Not until seventh grade..."

"So, in your opinion, things that aren't in the textbooks aren't important, is that right?" Snape scoffed.

"If you read more books about Potions, you'll know that Potions made from lionfish bone powder, ginger root, and Armadillo Bile can keep one's mind clear, Mandrake juice and wolfsbane can suppress the effects of dangerous Transfiguration..."

"After hearing all this, don't you still understand?"

Kyle for a moment, then tentatively asked, "Wolfsbane Potion?"

It's the only thing that can keep someone alert and is related to dangerous Transfiguration.

"Not completely stupid yet," Snape said meaningfully.
