Why Aren't You Playing by the Rules?
Before coming here, Kyle had always thought that Snape's detention this time was to deal with those complicated Potions ingredients, since that was the most common detention content in Potions Class.
The materials they used in class, including various bile, caterpillar slime, snake fangs... almost all came from this source.
I never expected that he would be helping to brew Potions this time... and a rare Wolfsbane Potion at that.
In the Wizarding World, the number of people who can brew this Potions can be counted on one hand, and each of them is a renowned Potions Master.
Kyle looked up and quickly noticed the meaningful expression on Snape's face.
Now, he seemed to understand a little.
Professor Lupin...
Perhaps because of Dumbledore's request, Snape could not reveal Professor Lupin's Werewolf identity, but that did not mean he could not give others a hint.
It seems Snape went to great lengths to get Professor Lupin out of the castle.
Kyle guessed that he was just waiting for him to ask why he was brewing the Wolfsbane Potion.
If you ask him, he can easily reveal more clues about Professor Lupin's identity.
This is a scheme...
If it were a different student, they might actually have been able to discover Professor Lupin's Werewolf identity through his step-by-step guidance.
pity...
"Oh, Professor, you're amazing! You even know how to make such complicated Potions," Kyle complimented, then continued grinding the lionfish bone powder in his hand, without asking why.
Snape seemed somewhat surprised, frowning as he stared at Kyle, seemingly lost in thought.
Half an hour later, he became a little impatient and asked, seemingly casually:
Do you know the effects of Wolfsbane Potion?
"Oh, I know," Kyle said. "Dean Sacia of St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries told me that Wolfsbane Potion can suppress the curse of Werewolf, allowing them to remain conscious when they transform on the night of the full moon."
Kyle spoke calmly, as if answering a question in class, and then shut his mouth without asking any further questions.
Now Snape was even more upset.
He couldn't understand why Kyle wasn't curious at all about his efforts to concoct the Wolfsbane Potion, and why he was so calm about it.
Snape had even planned out what to say next, but he never expected Kyle to be so uncooperative, preventing him from even taking the first step.
But he couldn't be too blunt, otherwise he wouldn't be able to explain it to Professor Dumbledore.
Seeing Kyle acting as if nothing had happened, Snape suddenly felt a pang of regret.
If he had known it would turn out this way, he should have had Kyle deal with the rats' spleens and the Armadillo Bile...
Silence fell once again in the underground classroom.
Kyle, of course, had no idea what Snape was thinking. He was currently processing the materials while secretly watching Snape brew the Wolfsbane Potion.
This is a rare opportunity to witness the brewing process of Wolfsbane Potion up close; it would be a great pity to miss it.
It must be said that this Potions was really complicated. It took a full five hours before Kyle, at Snape's prompting, finally put the last cut wolfsbane leaf into the cauldron.
As the processed leaves were placed into the crucible, the liquid inside immediately began to boil, and its color gradually changed from the original reddish-brown to brown.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, the door to the underground classroom was kicked open from the outside.
Malfoy stumbled in.
Give me a reason!
Snape looked at him with a grim expression.
Malfoy's collision was so sudden; he had been concentrating on stirring the potion when he was startled and nearly dropped his wand into the cauldron.
"Teach, instruct."
Malfoy looked even paler than usual, and said, still shaken, "I saw Harry Potter's head in Hogsmeade... just a head, floating there..."
"Oh?" Snape said coldly. "You mean, Harry Potter went to Hogsmeade?"
"Yes, it's his head..." Malfoy said instinctively.
"Idiot!" Snape glared at him. "Don't you know about the Invisibility Cloak?"
The next second, Malfoy stopped trembling. He seemed to have thought of something, and his originally pale face quickly turned red.
"That damned Harry Potter ..." Malfoy said indignantly, "How dare he make fun of me!"
"Fool!" Snape glanced at him again. "Come with me. I can probably guess where he'll come from."
"As for you..." He turned to Kyle, "Every ten minutes, stir the crucible three times counterclockwise until it emits smoke of the same color as the potion... Do you understand what I mean?"
"No problem, Professor." Kyle nodded.
"Very good."
After saying that, Snape, trailing his long black cloak, strode outside.
Malfoy trotted after him.
After they left, Kyle immediately took out parchment and a quill, and while recalling Snape's actions, he wrote something on it.
Kyle only folded it up and carefully put it away after writing on most of the parchment...
Of course, he didn't forget the task Snape had given him during this time... stirring the crucible.
It was now the third ten minutes. Kyle took out his wand and gently shook it over the cauldron, causing the potion inside to swirl.
After being stirred three times, the color of the medicine grew darker and the smell became increasingly pungent...
Kyle didn't know if this was normal, since this kind of Potions was only invented in the last few years, and there was absolutely no record of it even in the "Moste Potente Potions" Restricted Section.
But it should be fine, right?
Kyle took a closer sniff; the smell was almost identical to the ones he had cleaned up before.
"Thump!"
Just then, a muffled thud came from next door, as if someone had thrown something against the wall.
And right next to the underground classroom was Snape's office.
Then, Professor Lupin's voice came from the corridor outside...
"Well then, see you next time, Severus... Harry, come with me, I need to talk to you about that paper on vampires..."
Silence returned to the surroundings.
A few minutes later, the door to the underground classroom opened again, and Snape walked in, his face ashen as if he had been force-fed a large bottle of bitter bile.
As soon as he entered, he looked up at Kyle and said coldly, "Get out!"
"Okay..."
Although Kyle didn't know what had happened, he could tell from Snape's expression that he was in a terrible mood, and at this point, even the smallest thing could make him explode.
So Kyle didn't hesitate and left the underground classroom as Snape had asked.
