Ravenclaw's Plan Fails
Mikel hadn't found anyone who met his requirements by the end of class, and he seemed preoccupied for the next few days.
Kyle thought that the "messy-haired person" Professor Trelawney mentioned was very likely Harry.
She probably got the match order wrong and thought Hufflepuff's next opponent was Gryffindor, which is why she said that.
Besides, Harry's hair was always a mess, and he was too lazy to spend time tidying it up.
And this idea was confirmed a few days later.
Fred told Kyle that he had also been called upon by Professor Trelawney.
"She called me by the wrong name, thinking I was George." At the dinner table, Fred laughed so hard he could barely breathe. "And she told me to be careful of a handsome dark-haired man. I bet that man is either you or Cedric..."
"Oh, Fred," George exclaimed dramatically, "I think we should stay away from Kyle, Professor Trelawney warned us."
"Yeah," Fred said with a laugh, "He might turn into a Dragon and swallow us whole..."
"Or maybe they'll knock us off our brooms on the Quidditch Pitch..."
"Unfortunately, our match is already over..."
"He can only try to hit us next year..."
"Kyle, can you transform into Dragon?"
The two of them spoke in unison, as if they thought it was a very funny joke.
Kyle was even more certain; it seemed Professor Trelawney had indeed mixed up the game numbers.
This isn't surprising, though, since the Dementor appeared on the field, Professor Trelawney hasn't seemed to watch any games... at least Kyle hasn't seen her in the High Table.
The Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw match began on the last weekend before Easter.
Ravenclaw seems to be trying to replicate Hufflepuff's tactics from the last game, shifting the team's focus from Seeker to Chaser, and using a scoring spree to close the gap.
But Oliver Wood had also considered this, and had his players undergo targeted training before the match.
Most importantly, Ravenclaw doesn't have a good enough Chaser to consistently get past Oliver Wood's goal.
Ravenclaw was thus stunned.
Their offensive rhythm was disrupted right from the start of the match.
Angelina Johnson caught the Quaffle thrown by Oliver Wood, darted out like an arrow, and backhanded it into the Ravenclaw goal.
Twenty minutes later, the score was 20-80.
The Ravenclaw stands were silent; they had a strange feeling, as if they had returned to those dark years two years ago.
At that time, their team's main strategy was to participate rather than win, with almost no hope of victory.
Twenty minutes later, Gryffindor was already leading by 150 points. It was safe to say that unless Cho could catch the Golden Snitch immediately, Ravenclaw would have no hope of winning.
However, in reality, Harry caught the Golden Snitch in the end and won the game.
"You should have waited longer, Harry. At least waited until we had more points before making a move..."
After the game, Oliver Wood frowned in the locker room and said, "We're only two hundred points ahead of Hufflepuff now, which is too risky. They could very well overtake us in the last game."
"Hmm..." Harry scratched his head, "But Cho already saw the Golden Snitch, and almost caught it..."
"Then either keep her occupied, or chase the Golden Snitch away!" Oliver Wood blurted out. "This is about whether we win the Quidditch Cup, not the time to be gentlemen..."
Harry didn't say anything; that would leave a bad impression on Cho, and he didn't want to do that... Besides, dragging the game out for forty minutes was already excessive.
"It's alright, Oliver ..." Fred and George finally stepped in to smooth things over, "Hufflepuff might not even win by that many points."
"And Slytherin Quidditch Team is... well... not bad..." George said reluctantly, "They might even win the game."
"But we're only 250 points ahead of Slytherin," Oliver Wood said.
"Then let's pray they catch the Golden Snitch within five minutes," Fred said. "Slytherin Quidditch Team's Seeker isn't very bright; if he sees the Golden Snitch, he'll just rush over without thinking."
"That's right," George said. "Once Malfoy moves, Cedric will have no choice but to follow, just like Harry did just now."
"I hope so," Oliver Wood sighed, leading everyone out of the locker room.
Just then, the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team also came out.
Oliver Wood tried to greet him, but the other person acted as if he didn't see him and walked straight away from the field.
Harry watched Cho walk away without turning back, hesitating whether he should find an opportunity to go up and apologize, hoping to ease the tension.
But he quickly forgot about the idea.
Because the Easter holiday is here.
Compared to previous Christmas holidays, the two-week Easter break wasn't as exciting.
The amount of homework is overwhelming.
"It would be better not to have a holiday at all."
One afternoon, Mikel, who was doing her homework in the common room, suddenly threw down her quill and yelled, "We usually have time to do what we like in the evenings during class, but now we have to sit here every day facing endless homework!"
These words instantly resonated with those around them.
Sitting in the corner, Susan Bones couldn't help but complain, "The exam is still a long way off, what are they doing!"
Soon, a series of complaints filled the common room, with everyone criticizing the professors for assigning so much homework.
"Kyle, have you finished your paper on the Switching Spell?" Kanna asked in a low voice. "How many papers did Professor McGonagall assign?"
"There are twelve papers on Transfiguration in total, and I think three of them are about the Switching Spell Charm," Kyle said.
"What exactly is the question...?"
"I've done a lot of homework these past few days, so I can't quite remember it all," Kyle said, pointing to a thick stack of parchment next to him. "But the first thing I did was the Transfiguration Class assignment. I've finished it all. Go find it yourself."
"Good..."
Kanna rummaged through the pile of parchment and quickly found the Transfiguration Class assignment at the very bottom.
"A summary of the errors that caused the Switching Spell to fail?" she said in surprise. "I always thought it was theoretical analysis."
Just like Kyle said, they had so much homework that it was easy to forget the details.
These days, you can often hear people groaning in the common room, saying they made mistakes in their homework.
However, someone later told them not to worry about it, just go with the flow and make sure the numbers match up. After all, with so many assignments, the professor couldn't possibly read them all.
This allowed those who were on the verge of collapse to return to normal.
