The Only Idle Person in the Manor
It's clear that Helena Ravenclaw is even more incredulous than Kyle that she was able to wear the Ravenclaw's Diadem.
"What on earth is going on...?"
Helena Ravenclaw looked at Kyle, and just as she was about to say something, her pearly white body trembled violently, and her face was filled with shock, fear, and disbelief.
Then, in a panic, she tried to remove the Ravenclaw's Diadem from her head, but her hand simply passed right through Ravenclaw's Diadem.
"Don't be nervous, Helena Ravenclaw."
Kyle chuckled and said, "Didn't you want me to pass on a message to your mother? Well, the Grey Lady also has something to say to you."
"As for me, I'm not very familiar with the owl's workflow, so I'm really not good at delivering messages. It would be bad if I didn't remember a word."
"So, I took it upon myself to lure you here. I hope you can understand."
Helena Ravenclaw didn't speak, but tears, equally pearly white, streamed from her eyes.
Tears fell to the ground, then turned into a hazy wisp of smoke, drifting back into Helena Ravenclaw's body.
"It's been over a thousand years since we last met, you must have a lot to say... So I won't disturb you any longer."
Kyle walked to the door, pushed it open, and went out.
"Oh, right?" He seemed to suddenly remember something and turned to say, "If you need anything, just call Tata... He's House-elf here, and he'll hear you as long as you call his name in this manor."
After saying that, Kyle gently closed the door.
Once the oak door was closed, the sounds inside completely disappeared.
Although Kyle was also curious about the gossip in the Ravenclaw family, now was clearly not the time to be gossipy, and they probably didn't want an outsider standing next to them while they were talking.
Kyle followed the corridor and quickly returned to the manor's main hall.
Tata was wiping the crystal ornaments on the table with a velvet cloth. When he saw Kyle, he immediately stopped what he was doing and bowed to greet him.
"Don't worry about me, Tata," Kyle said, looking around and realizing that it was just Tata and himself there.
"Is Mrs. Perenelle also helping Nicolas craft the Philosopher's Stone?"
"Yes, the lady of the house is helping too," Tata replied.
"All right."
Kyle casually found a chair and sat down, while Tata continued wiping the crystal ornaments.
Several hours later, there was still no movement in the room. Neither Nicolas nor Ravenclaw seemed to have forgotten that he was still there.
Lunch was prepared by Tata; it was lavish, but also rather quiet.
Because he was the only one eating at the long table, Nicolas and Perenelle hadn't come out; according to Tata, they'd been eating in the alchemy room lately.
As for the two people in the room, one a ghost and the other a memory, they obviously didn't need to eat.
The last remaining Tata disappeared after the last dessert was served.
He only reappeared in the corner of the room after Kyle had finished eating.
Several more hours passed. Kyle was getting quite bored, so he got up and asked, "Tata, can I go upstairs to the opera room?"
It's been over a thousand years since they last met, and the conversation between Helena Ravenclaw and Ravenclaw is unlikely to end anytime soon, so he needs to find something to do.
Listening to opera is a great way to pass the time, even though Kyle doesn't understand it, but there doesn't seem to be a better place to go.
However, upon hearing this, the House-elf immediately became alert. He remembered that Kyle and Dumbledore had discussed dismantling that room and taking it with them.
"The master said you can go to any room here."
Tata said, then added, "But sir, you mustn't damage the house. There's a curse on it; if you try to break the walls, you'll get hurt."
"I'm just going to listen to an opera, why would I want to damage the wall?" Kyle asked, puzzled, not understanding what Tata meant.
"No, it's nothing, Tata was just saying... I'll take you there now." The House-elf quickly put down the velvet cloth in her hand and led Kyle to a room upstairs.
The place was still empty, just like before. Kyle walked smoothly to the wall directly opposite the door and pressed a symbol on it.
Almost in the blink of an eye, a large band appeared in the empty room.
Kyle listened to the melodious orchestral music, he turned to Tata and said, "If a ghost comes looking for you, please tell me immediately."
"Ghost?"
Tata's body trembled visibly.
"Sir must be joking with Tata. There are no ghosts here. Tata knows..." he stammered, Kyle could even hear the clicking of his teeth.
"Are you... afraid of ghosts?" Kyle couldn't help but ask.
"Tata isn't afraid!" the House-elf shrieked. "Tata just... just doesn't like them."
"Alright then," Kyle said, without exposing the House-elf's self-deception.
It's just being afraid of ghosts, nothing to be surprised about. Most freshmen don't react much better than Tata when they first see the ghosts at Hogwarts.
"Alright then," Kyle continued, "If you hear someone calling you, just come find me. Don't be afraid. That ghost is also Nicolas's guest; it won't scare you."
Upon hearing the word "guest," Tata immediately became less frightened. Although he still looked nervous, at least his teeth stopped chattering.
"That ghost... guest, when will he come looking for Tata...?"
"I'm not sure about that," Kyle said after thinking for a moment. "It could be today, or it could be tomorrow. I'm not sure, but it shouldn't be too long."
"If you're scared, you can stay by my side for the next couple of days. If you notice anything unusual, please tell me immediately."
"Tata isn't afraid," the House-elf said stubbornly, but she still refused to leave the room.
Kyle shook his head with amusement and said nothing more. He took out his wand and conjured a chair for himself and Tata respectively, then sat down to enjoy the opera performance in the room.
However, Kyle listened to it all day long.
Then the next day passed, but there was still no sign of the oak door being opened.
Kyle was always the only one at the table during mealtimes.
"Wait, they haven't really forgotten about me yet," Kyle thought to himself.
Looking at the empty dining table and hall, he suddenly had a strange feeling, as if he were the owner of this manor.
Finally, after breakfast on the third day, Kyle called out to Tata, who was about to leave.
Could you please find me a mirror?
"Of course, no problem." Tata nodded and said, "What kind of mirror does the gentleman need?"
"A regular mirror will do, but it should be a bit big, preferably with a wooden frame," Kyle said.
Tata quickly found the mirror he wanted, which was similar in size to the Mirror of Erised in the Headmaster's Office, and had a rosewood frame around the outside.
Kyle told Tata to just put the mirror in an empty room, and then he followed her in.
He had initially thought Helena Ravenclaw and Ravenclaw would only talk for a day or two at most, but now it seemed like a week or two wouldn't be enough.
Nicolas and Perenelle, too, showed absolutely no intention of leaving the alchemy room.
While the opera was indeed excellent, one shouldn't listen to it for two weeks straight.
More importantly, everyone's busy. If you don't find something productive to do, people will think you're incredibly idle...
So Kyle decided to find something to do, like trying to create a magical item... the mirror he'd seen in the room before, the one that could store Nicolas's memories.
Because of the Ravenclaw's Diadem, the Ancient Runes runes and symbols engraved on the mirror were no longer as difficult to understand as before. In addition, Kyle clearly remembered the function and location of each Ancient Runes.
Although it would be quite difficult for Kyle to completely replicate these Ancient Runes after losing the Ravenclaw's Diadem's blessing, he still wanted to give it a try. After all, he had nothing better to do, and who knows, he might succeed.
Oh right, there's also the "Firestorm" spell. After discovering the problems with it, he plans to practice it again to see if there are any differences compared to before.
We can ask Tata later to see if there's a spacious and sturdy place here where he can use the spell with peace of mind.
