Who in the wizarding world would refuse to raise a dragon? Hagrid certainly wouldn't. As for a bad temper... so what? Kids being a little naughty was perfectly normal.

Being sent back by the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary only proved those people were incompetent. Just look at how skinny they all were, like sticks of firewood. How could they possibly raise dragons properly?

"Alright, then, if you become a professor..."

"No problem!" Before Kyle could finish, Hagrid waved a large hand. "I accept your bet."

He did not even consider whether Kyle could truly persuade Newt, or whether Dumbledore would agree to let a dragon enter Hogwarts. He simply agreed on the spot.

As if afraid Kyle would change his mind, he quickened his pace and led the three of them, who had to jog to keep up, to the area near the Mooncalf cave.

"You stay here. Don't go any farther."

Hagrid turned around and said sternly to the three of them, "Mooncalf dancing takes a great deal of energy, so they need to get plenty of sleep during the day. You must keep your movements as quiet as possible."

Kanna and Cedric nodded silently before looking curiously at the tent-like caves.

Kyle did not join them in watching.

They were only Mooncalves. He had seen them countless times at Newt's place already.

His attention was entirely on the guardian trees around them.

Compared to those elsewhere, the guardian trees here grew especially tall and sturdy, thick and long.

Kyle stepped forward and knocked on one of the trunks. It was hard as iron.

Seeing what Kyle was doing, Hagrid explained quietly, "Because Mooncalves trample their droppings into the soil, guardian trees usually grow very well wherever they live. Oh, and this is also a Bowtruckle nest."
