Order of the Phoenix
Kyle had no idea what the Ministry of Magic's purpose was in sending him this letter—was it a warning to keep quiet, or something else entirely?
That evening, Kyle also asked Chris, but like Mr. Weasley, he didn't know the reason either.
"Mafalda Hopkirk of the Office for the Improper Use of Magic was just following orders," Chris said. "Then I went to the Minister's Office, but someone said Fudge had gone out two days ago and hadn't returned."
Then he patted Kyle on the shoulder.
"Don't worry, Mafalda said it was just a simple inquiry. After all, no one can prove that you used the spell at the Leaky Cauldron, can they?"
"Besides, this kind of inquiry won't affect your start of school... but that Harry Potter might be in trouble."
"Does the Ministry of Magic really want to expel Harry?" Kyle asked.
"No, it's for another reason," Chris shook his head and said. "Alastor and Sirius believe that the Dementor attack on Harry was likely carried out by the You-Know-Who."
"Dementor?"
"Yes, otherwise he wouldn't have used the Patronus Charm in front of those three Muggle."
Chris poured himself a strong cup of tea. "Dementor has appeared in the Muggle community and is trying to devour the souls of three Muggle... Honestly, this has never happened before."
"Yes, that's quite rare." Kyle nodded.
As far as he knew, every Dementor was strictly confined to the island where Azkaban was located.
Furthermore, the main purpose of the Hit Wizard stationed there was not to prevent prisoners from escaping, but to keep an eye on the Dementor and prevent them from sneaking out.
Therefore, Dementor could never appear in Little Whinging without the permission of the Ministry of Magic.
Of course, it's not impossible that Voldemort could be involved, but if he really did take over Azkaban, he probably wouldn't just send one or two to deal with Harry.
So the Ministry of Magic is more likely... To be honest, this method of framing is a bit too crude.
After chatting with Chris for a few more minutes, Kyle went upstairs to his room.
In the days that followed, the Weasley family next door seemed to suddenly become very busy, Kyle didn't see Mrs. Weasley for two or three days in a row.
One time when I went there, I found them packing their things, as if they were moving.
"What are you doing?" he asked curiously.
"A place you would never imagine," Fred and George said, putting down their suitcases and running over. "Mom's been staying there."
He looked somewhat excited, his ears slightly red.
"Fred, George!"
Just then, Mrs. Weasley, whom we hadn't seen in a long time, hurried over. "Hurry up and pack your things, we need to get going."
As she spoke, she also noticed Kyle standing to the side.
"Honey, are you alright?"
She went over and hugged Kyle. "I heard about it; you've also been given a hard time by the Ministry of Magic."
"It's nothing, Mrs. Weasley, just a routine inquiry," Kyle said. "Are you going out?"
"Yes, to a... well, a safer place." Mrs. Weasley hesitated for a moment, then said, "Alright, Dumbledore said we don't need to hide anything from you."
Then she pulled Kyle to a secluded spot.
What I'm about to say might seem unbelievable, but it's all true.
"In order to better combat the resurgent You-Know-Who, Dumbledore reactivated the Order of the Phoenix... a team that was founded more than a decade ago and has fought the Death Eaters hundreds of times."
"We're heading to the Order of the Order of the Phoenix's temporary command post, which is Sirius's home."
"12 Grimmauld Place?" Kyle said.
"How did you know...?" Mrs. Weasley looked quite surprised, then seemed to realize something. "No wonder Dumbledore said there was no need to hide it from you. I think you must have already been there, right?"
"Yes, but that wasn't the Order of the Order of the Phoenix's command post back then."
"That's for sure, because this was only confirmed recently."
Mrs. Weasley glanced at the time and said, "Why don't you come with us? It'll be safer that way. As for Chris, I'll talk to him."
"To 12 Grimmauld Place?" Kyle thought for a moment, then declined Mrs. Weasley's offer.
It wasn't that he didn't want to, but Diana had specifically come back once when the holiday started and told him to stay home and not go anywhere else.
The last time Kyle went to Diagon Alley was practically the first time he had ever left the Ottery St. Catchpole.
"In that case... alright then." Mrs. Weasley said nothing more after hearing that this was Diana's request.
However, just as she was about to go back to continue packing, Kyle called her back.
"Mrs. Weasley, do all members of the Order of the Phoenix go to Grimmauld Place?"
"Most people will go," Mrs. Weasley said.
"What about my dad? Is he going too?"
"No." Mrs. Weasley shook her head. "Chris, he's not a member of the Order of the Phoenix yet."
"What?"
Kyle was somewhat surprised; he had always assumed Chris was also a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Strictly speaking, he is a member of the Order of the Phoenix, but he's not on the list.
Mrs. Weasley explained, "Chris was with Mr. Scamander at the time, fighting Werewolf, Giant, and all sorts of dangerous Fantastic Beasts. He and we were on two different battlefields."
At the time, the members of the Order of the Phoenix were mainly focused on fighting Death Eaters and supporting the battlefield, and Chris felt that what he was doing did not meet this requirement.
"Although Dumbledore and we didn't mind, since his approach was also to deal with the power of the You-Know-Who, and there was no difference between us, he himself refused."
"But just before Dumbledore invited him for the third time, the You-Know-Who was killed by Harry, and the matter was eventually put on hold."
"I see," Kyle said, suddenly understanding.
"Of course, this is only temporary," Mrs. Weasley said with a smile. "I believe that Chris's name will soon be on the list of the Order of the Phoenix, without a doubt."
"Perhaps there's one for me too." Kyle smiled as well.
"No, I don't think so." Mrs. Weasley's expression gradually became serious. "Although Alastor also suggested bringing you into the Order of the Phoenix, I maintain that he was being too hasty."
"You're just a kid who hasn't graduated yet. You shouldn't be involved in such dangerous things. We're enough."
"Mrs. Weasley..."
Kyle was about to speak when he was interrupted by a sudden honking sound from not far away.
A brand-new car drove into the Ottery St. Catchpole, the very same car that had picked them up at King's Cross Station... the Sirius bought.
Mr. Weasley leaned out of the driver's seat. "Ready, kids? We have to go right now."
"Sorry, darling, I have to go."
Mrs. Weasley hugged Kyle again. "If you find any suspicious wizards in the vicinity, remember to write to us immediately."
"I understand, Mrs. Weasley," Kyle nodded. "Be careful."
"The same to you."
