Sirius Was Taken Away?
Kyle probably understood why Sirius was so popular at Hogwarts.
For the students in the castle, a free-flowing and highly interactive duel was clearly more appealing than sitting there taking notes.
Similarly, this also maximizes Sirius's advantages.
His teaching ability is indeed average, but his strength and combat experience are quite good.
Of all the sixth-grade students, only five, besides Kyle, could get his foot off the platform.
As for most of the others, although they shouted loudly, they only had a few tricks up their sleeves and didn't know how to adapt. A simple Shield Charm could make Sirius invincible.
Even though they didn't get any extra points, everyone still seemed very happy when get out of class ended.
"That's great. I like Professor Black; his classes are more interesting Professor Moody's."
Mikel said, "There are no classes next. Where are you planning to go? How about a couple of games of Wizard's Chess?"
"I'm afraid that won't work." Kyle shook his head. "I need to attend an advanced Transfiguration Class class."
"Oh, right," Mikel said suddenly, "If it were you, you could definitely meet the requirements..."
The biggest change after entering sixth grade is that the class schedule is different from before.
The courses above are divided into two types: a regular course, the same as before, and an advanced course, also known as the NEWT course.
These advanced classes are held only once a week for each course, but require a certain OWL grade to be eligible, similar to the professors' clubs.
Kyle and Kanna went out into the hallway and found that only ten students had come to Professor McGonagall's advanced class.
Hufflepuff only had himself and Kanna; no one else had met Professor McGonagall's request. Among the three Ravenclaw students, they met Cho, along with three Slytherin students and two Gryffindor students.
"Isn't there a bit too few people?" Qiu whispered in the large classroom. "This is the first time I've ever felt that the Transfiguration Class Classroom is so empty."
"There's nothing we can do about it," Kyle shrugged. "Professor McGonagall has the strictest requirements, and according to Cedric, the number of students in the last cohort wasn't very large."
"I wonder what Professor McGonagall will teach us," Qiu said with some anticipation.
But she soon found out.
Human Transfiguration... is not the most difficult, but it is the most dangerous course.
Because this kind of Transfiguration is cast on oneself, if the spell fails or something goes wrong, it's not as simple as starting over; one will be sent directly to the Hospital Wing.
"Since everyone here is a master of Transfiguration, I have one more request..."
Professor McGonagall stood in the middle of everyone and calmly said, "Don't make a sound. Try to recite the incantation in your mind. This is related to whether you can successfully obtain the NEWT certificate."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
In fact, Professor Flitwick had already mentioned this in yesterday's Charms class, and it's not just for the advanced classes; everyone will eventually have to do this, although they'll start a little later, about a month after the start of the semester.
For most people, sixth grade is indeed much easier than fifth grade, but for students who want to get more NEWT certificates, fifth grade is just the beginning; things will only get busier from there.
Since it was the first class, Professor McGonagall didn't assign any difficult tasks; she simply asked everyone to transform their hands into small cacti.
Compared to animal Transfiguration, plant transformations are definitely simpler, and everyone finished by the end of class.
Everyone had a cactus on their arm, and they were all different sizes and shapes, which looked quite interesting.
One Ravenclaw girl even added a little extra difficulty by adding a beautiful Golden Silk Hoya to her cactus.
However, her actions did not earn her any points from Professor McGonagall, because Golden Silk Hoya cannot grow on cacti.
When class ended, Kanna was kept behind by someone.
Kyle waited outside for a few minutes before she and Professor McGonagall came out of the classroom together.
"Then it's settled. The time is every Tuesday and Friday evening at six o'clock," Professor McGonagall said, then glanced at Kyle. "Remember, you need to find the classroom yourself; it's our tradition, and it's also a test."
"I understand," Kanna said.
"What did she say to you?" Kyle asked curiously after Professor McGonagall left.
"You've invited me to join the Transfiguration Club," Kanna said with a smile, her tone excited.
She knew that Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration Club was very difficult to get into; there were only about a dozen people in the entire school combined, and Kyle was one of them.
However, Kyle joined in his third year, making him one of the earliest members.
"If you ask me, Professor McGonagall should have invited you three years ago." Kyle was also quite pleased. "Do you need me to secretly tell you the classroom entrance? That place isn't easy to find."
"Absolutely not!" Kanna shook her head repeatedly. "You heard it yourself, Professor McGonagall said it's a test, and I don't want to pass by cheating."
"If it really doesn't work out..." Kanna paused for a moment before continuing, "Then it just means I'm not qualified to join you yet."
"That's impossible..." Kyle said with a smile, "You can definitely find the entrance."
Kanna smiled, but it was clear she was still a little nervous.
"Is the Transfiguration Club like the advanced class?" Kanna couldn't help but ask on the way to the Great Hall. "Do they meet every week to learn more difficult material in advance, or to talk about spellcasting tips?"
"Such situations can occur."
Kyle thought for a moment and said, "Because the club has no age limit, I was already exposed to Human Transfiguration when I was in fourth grade."
"However, more often than not, the club discussions revolve around the extended applications of Transfiguration, such as multiple Transfiguration of objects, and partial Transfiguration —knowledge not found in textbooks."
"Is that so?" Kanna nodded and said, "This is completely different from the Potions Club."
"What's the Potions Class Club like?" Kyle asked.
He did not join the Potions Class Club, and Snape made no attempt to invite him.
"The Potions Class Club," Kanna said. "Professor Snape teaches us special methods for processing Potions ingredients, methods that aren't in the books, but are much simpler and more convenient."
"In addition, he would teach us to brew some more difficult Potions, which is about two grades higher than the normal courses."
"Isn't there an advanced Potions Class class on your schedule? You'll find out then... I remember an older student mentioning that the club's content is similar to the advanced class."
"Oh?" Kyle raised an eyebrow.
Sure enough, his schedule does include an advanced Potions Class class, which starts next Monday.
Kyle had initially thought Snape would use his absence from OWL as a reason to turn him away.
But if it's just about how to process Potions ingredients, it seems there's no need for him to attend the advanced class. After all, he already knew those things, and they were taught by Snape anyway... just in a different way.
As they spoke, the two sat down at the Hufflepuff table in the Great Hall to have lunch.
However, at that moment, Kyle overheard the conversation of several fifth-grade students nearby.
"Why do you think the Ministry of Magic took Professor Black away...?"
"I heard it's because someone got injured in his class."
"But didn't he already warn us? And why didn't the people from the Ministry of Magic come last year?"
"I don't know."
