If they returned to Hogwarts first, there would still be a long journey ahead. By the time he went to Diagon Alley afterward, it would be too late.

But they were close to London now, so it was convenient to stop by on the way.

Still, Kyle was not entirely comfortable letting Kanna take the carriage back to school alone.
