In Charms class, Professor Flitwick spent ten minutes going over the key points of several spells again before letting everyone begin practicing.
The classroom quickly filled with the sound of incantations, mixed with noisy chatter and discussion. It was incredibly lively.
Most people chatted while casually waving their wands a few times for appearance's sake. Professor Flitwick did not intervene much either, only going over to correct them when someone made a mistake.
But halfway through the lesson, a milky-white head suddenly poked in from outside through the wall.
"Sorry, Filius, for interrupting your class," said the Fat Friar, Hufflepuff's ghost. "But the Headmaster needs to see Kyle. Could he go to the Headmaster's Office now?"
The classroom fell silent at once, and everyone looked at Kyle curiously.
"Of course, no problem."
Professor Flitwick, who had been correcting Ryan's hand movements, immediately said, "Off you go. These simple spells certainly won't stump you, will they?"
Kyle nodded, got to his feet, and left the classroom for the corridor outside.
"Friar, what does the Headmaster want with me?" he asked the ghost beside him.
"I don't know." The Fat Friar shook his head. "I ran into Albus in the Entrance Hall. He was seeing off people from the Ministry of Magic at the time. He didn't say what it was about, only asked me to come get you."
"Thank you," Kyle said.
"You're welcome." With that, the Fat Friar dived through the floor as though into water and disappeared.
Kyle made his way up to the eighth floor.
The door to the Headmaster's Office was open, so he did not need to give a password and walked straight in.
The Ministry of Magic officials had already left. Dumbledore sat behind his desk, while the portraits of former headmasters snored in their
