It was just an ordinary homework assignment. Was it really that important?

Fine, perhaps some professors did place great importance on that sort of thing, but even so, with guests present—guests who had come from far away—couldn't such a trivial matter be put off for a little while?

Fortunately, Professor Viktor spoke up then, breaking the awkward atmosphere. This time, he spoke in perfectly standard English.

Viktor turned and pushed open the door to the Alchemy classroom. "Come in."

Kyle immediately walked in with his head lowered, and Kanna followed behind him.

To her surprise, the white smoke visible from outside vanished mysteriously once they entered. The classroom was not only spotless, but completely odorless as well.

It seemed Viktor had noticed what she was thinking.

"With a few little tricks, it's easier to see how well the students have done," Professor Viktor
