Kyle had no idea what Snape was up to. It was just an attack on Hogwarts—did he really have to take the field himself?

Kyle made his way from the Astronomy Tower back to the Great Hall.
Voldemort seemed to have struck again, shattering Hogwarts's largest remaining barrier... The statues and suits of armor lay scattered across the floor, with no trace of magic left in them.
A large number of Death Eaters flooded into the castle, packing the staircases and entrance hall.
Professor Flitwick was dueling a blond Death Eater, sparks flying between them. Nearby, a masked Death Eater was fighting Mr. Weasley.
Though his face was covered, his massive build and clumsy movements made him easy to identify. He was probably Goyle Sr., another veteran Death Eater.
Several graduates were helping nearby. Oliver Wood successfully used a Stunning Spell to deal with Mr. Weasley's opponent.
Goyle Sr.'s hulking body crashed to the ground, smashing the Gryffindor hourglass beside him. Rubies spilled everywhere.
Kyle flicked his wand, and the rubies on the ground transformed into dagger-shaped blades that floated into the air before shooting fiercely in one direction.
A gray figure had just leaped down from the stairs when the ruby daggers turned him into a pincushion.
Three daggers pierced his throat at once. The werewolf did not even struggle before collapsing to the floor, motionless.
At that moment, another werewolf jumped down. Seeing the other one lying there covered in blood, he let out a slight sigh of relief.
He had intended to leave just like that, but when he saw the red daggers rising again, he hurriedly let out muffled cries and waved his arms, seemingly trying to say something.
"Remus Lupin?" Kyle asked quietly,
