"When did this change happen..." Snape's voice was very soft, as though he were talking to himself.

"There's no one else here." He looked at Kyle. "And don't make me think you're an idiot."

"My guess..." Kyle took a deep breath. "It was probably the night Voldemort was destroyed."

"That's right. It started from that day." Snape suddenly spun around, and his flaring cloak nearly smacked Kyle in the head.

Fortunately, Kyle reacted quickly enough to sidestep it in time.

Snape really did love cloaks... though perhaps it was because he spent all year in the underground classrooms. Without an extra layer, it really was cold.

Kyle touched a badge on his collar, and a warm gust of air swept over him, dispelling the clammy chill unique to the underground classroom.

"Looks like you're not an idiot. Take a look at this. It can prove your guess is correct."

Snape walked behind the desk and took a thick stack of magazines from a drawer.

Kyle stepped closer and realized they were all copies of the Daily Prophet, piled together to a thickness greater than two books.

Looking more carefully, Kyle noticed that these newspapers shared something in common: each contained an article about Dumbledore, and none of them had anything nice to say.

Senile fool, idiot, madman, dictator, nemesis of Defense Against the Dark Arts professors, single-handed provider of the Auror Office...

Wait, something strange seemed to have slipped in there.

Kyle flipped back through the papers, but no matter how hard he looked, he could not find the article he had glimpsed by accident.

Only then did he realize just how many newspapers there were.
