Background / History

Chen Lili is the daughter of Chen Yanzhou, patriarch of the Chen Family, one of the three great families of Prefecture City. Because her mother came from a humble background and her maternal relatives had previously clashed with the Chen Family, Chen Lili and her mother were marginalized within the household. Her mother later died of illness, and the sole clan elder who treated Chen Lili kindly also passed away, leaving her without support. 98

While Feng Gang visited the Chen Family, he attempted to violate her. Chen Lili, who had trained in martial arts since childhood, fought him off and struck him in a way that left him unable to sire children. Knowing that she had incurred the Feng Family's enmity and lacked protection at home, she fled the Chen residence overnight and eventually joined the Azure Sky Sect. 98

Her estrangement from the Chen Family persists even after her rise in the sect. When Chen Yanzhou and Chen Weiwei later visit Heavenly Sun Peak, Chen Lili refuses to meet them, privately doubting that she is worthy to be considered the Chen Family's eldest daughter. 145
