Yin Kuang wondered how this guy managed to find him everywhere he went. He was truly impossible to shake off. It would have been one thing if the assassin were a beauty like Diao Chan or Lu Xialeng, but instead it had to be a mentally unstable man with a whole mess of grudges between them. Why couldn't he just give it a rest?
But upon closer inspection, Yin Kuang realized something was wrong with Wang Ning. Even in the dim oil-lamp light, he could see the sickly pallor on Wang Ning's face and the puddle of black blood on the floor. Clearly, he was injured. So this place has become a shelter now, Yin Kuang thought, casually shutting the door behind him.
Wang Ning opened his eyes and glared darkly at Yin Kuang, pointing at the pastries on the table. "Who made those pastries? I'm going to kill him." Those pastries were the poisonous-looking concoctions Diao Chan had made. Yin Kuang nearly laughed out loud. With a chuckle, he said, "Learn your lesson. Don't eat things from other people's homes without thinking. Even if they haven't been poisoned, you should still watch out for food poisoning." Wang Ning said, "Got any food?" Yin Kuang tossed him a few pieces of roasted meat. "Since when were you so broke that you couldn't even afford food?" Wang Ning took only one piece and ate as he spoke. "You wouldn't understand our line of work. Eating too much can sometimes get you killed. I can't be bothered carrying extra food."
Yin Kuang sat on the table as if it were a stool and said, "What happened? Who beat you up this badly? I ought to thank him properly." Wang Ning said, "Just a failed mission." Clearly unwilling
