Yin Kuang remained at Soul-Sipping Cliff for nearly another half hour. During that time, he did not take out the Death Note again to study it. It was not that he was wasting precious time; he simply knew he would not be able to focus. With his mind in turmoil, anything he did would yield half the result for twice the effort. He might as well sit quietly.

It was not until Qian Qianqian called to tell him everyone had arrived and asked him to return that he came back to his senses. He turned and left Soul-Sipping Cliff, heading down the mountain.

When he returned to the "dormitory," the fairly lively atmosphere in the living room immediately cooled. There were seven men and women sitting there. Qian Qianqian was not among them; the sizzling sound of stir-frying came from the kitchen. Knowing Yin Kuang had returned, Qian Qianqian called out, "Yin Kuang, you're back? Sit and wait for a bit. It'll be ready soon."

At first glance, Yin Kuang's eyes fell on Zeng Fei, who was still somewhat chubby. Zeng Fei stood up, a smile spreading across his slightly round face, then gave Yin Kuang a huge hug.

"Long time no see!"

"Long time no see!"

The two of them each gave the other's broad, solid back several firm pats.

The words were plain and simple, yet they carried the joy of reunion after a long separation, without the slightest affectation. Although Zeng Fei looked burdened with worries and low in spirits, Yin Kuang could clearly feel the delight shining from his increasingly bright eyes.

Wei Ming said, "Yin Kuang, where did you run off to? Do you know the whole campus is practically exploding with excitement right now?" Yin Kuang smiled. "I went to see some old friends."
