649 City-Destroying Catastrophe

The area around the eastern gate district was shrouded in vast swathes of murky black ghost fog. Chilling winds howled, ghosts wailed and wolves howled, and countless vicious ghosts and wandering souls seemed to lurk within the fog, wantonly slaughtering cultivators who ventured into it.

Nascent Soul Cultivators still had some ability to defend themselves, but the many low-level Golden Core cultivators were reduced to withered skeletons in the blink of an eye as the vicious ghosts and wandering souls devoured their flesh and blood. The Ghost Lord had charged into Black Sand City in pursuit of Ye Qin, massacring any cultivators who tried to stop it.
