Bi Dashan's expression shifted from grief to shock to embarrassment, before he forcibly rearranged it into solemn seriousness.

He climbed up from the floor, dusted off his knees, then sat properly back in his chair and cleared his throat.

"Dong'er, what is it?"

"Um... Dad, I brought you some pastries and tea."

Bi Dashan tried hard to maintain a stern expression and nodded. "Put them there. Dad happens to be a little hungry."

Bibi Dong placed the tray on the small table by the kang bed, secretly glanced at her father, and pressed her lips together to hold back a laugh.

"I'll head out first, then."

"Alright."

Just as Bibi Dong was about to open the door and leave, Bi Dashan spoke.

"Oh, right. Be careful when you go to Sunset Forest. Also, I have something for you."

Bibi Dong looked at Bi Dashan curiously and watched as he rose, went to the wardrobe in the room, and rummaged out a patterned box.

Bi Dashan opened the box. Inside was a jade pendant shaped like an eight-legged spider.

"What is this?"

"One of the only two valuable treasures in our home. One for you and one for Xiao Xi."

"But it's so precious. How could I accept it?"

Bi Dashan reached out and placed the jade pendant in her hand.

"It's because it's precious that I'm giving it to you two."

At those words, Bibi Dong's eyes reddened.

"Dad."

Then Bibi Dong threw her arms around Bi Dashan.

Bi Dashan patted her back. After twelve years, he had finally hugged his daughter once.

Liu Xiulan watched her daughter and Qian Xunji leave.

When she saw that Qian Xunji could fly using Soul Power alone, without even using wings—

"Be careful."

"If you encounter poisonous miasma, avoid it immediately. Do not force your way through."

"Though the outer region is relatively safe, you still need to watch out for Soul Beasts over a thousand years old."

"Got it, Teacher." Bibi Dong nodded obediently.

She was a Soul Emperor. She had more than enough ability to protect herself in the outer region.

Seeing her like this, Qian Xunji could not resist rubbing her head before finally spreading his Angel Wings.

As golden light flowed around him, he shot into the sky and vanished into the depths of the forest.

In an instant, his vision changed.

The thick fog and dense forest that had originally blocked his sight became translucent.

"According to the original description, the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well should be in a special valley..."

The second had a waterfall and rather pleasant scenery, but it was not the place he sought either.

Just as he was preparing to change direction, his gaze was suddenly drawn to an unusual area.

However, around ten li ahead to his right, the color of the Soul Power in one area was wrong.

It was a mixture of red and blue. Two completely opposing energy attributes somehow coexisted perfectly within a single valley.

Moreover, the vegetation in that area was abnormally lush.

"Found it!"

Qian Xunji was overjoyed. His wings beat sharply as he sped toward that direction.

The closer he got, the clearer the energy fluctuations became.
