Background / History

Robin was the secretive vice president of Baroque Works, working with Crocodile to obtain Poneglyphs. Lu Zhuo located her through his knowledge of Baroque Works, exposed her identity as the Devil Child and a Flower-Flower Fruit user, and offered her a place aboard the Holy Sword Pirates. 15

After Lu Zhuo defeated Mr. 1, Robin negotiated from a position of caution rather than submitting. She agreed to join Lu Zhuo if he could defeat Crocodile, in exchange for protection and access to Poneglyphs. Following Crocodile’s defeat, she traveled with Lu Zhuo and Nami to examine the Poneglyph in Alabasta. 16 18

On Skypiea, Robin trained her Devil Fruit abilities, assisted the crew during dangerous encounters, and recorded another Poneglyph hidden in ancient ruins. Lu Zhuo’s unexplained knowledge of lost sites and history deepened both her curiosity and attraction toward him. 19 20 26 27

Robin’s past trauma resurfaced when Aokiji encountered the Holy Sword Pirates. Initially paralyzed by fear, she recovered enough to attack alongside Lu Zhuo and Nami. Lu Zhuo’s refusal to abandon her, even while badly injured, became a turning point in their relationship. 32 33 35 36
