"Shikamaru, why is it you?"
Kakashi was stunned to see Shikamaru; the boy seemed to know the whereabouts of Naruto and Sasuke.
"No, don't! Sasuke and the others will die!"
Seeing Sakura so anxious, Shikamaru quickly explained.
"Don't be afraid, Sakura. The technique that guy planted on me isn't for surveillance at all. Although I don't know exactly what it is, I can be certain it has no monitoring effect."
Hearing this, Sakura calmed down slightly, and Kakashi, informed by Shikamaru, finally understood the sequence of events.
Kakashi immediately went to search for Feng Yao, and after a moment of thought, he arrived at a small alleyway.
This was Feng Yao's home, and sure enough, Feng Yao was there.
The interior was covered in dust with cluttered furniture scattered everywhere; Feng Yao sat on a chair that looked as if it could collapse at any moment.
Seeing Kakashi enter suddenly, Feng Yao was briefly taken aback.
Then, he spoke calmly: "It seems Shikamaru saw through the technique I left behind."
Kakashi stared at Feng Yao cautiously. He knew the man was an extremely dangerous individual, but he was not without his own contingencies.
"He is a clever boy. What have you done to Naruto and Sasuke?"
Kakashi's first question remained focused on the safety of the two.
Having had his identity exposed, Feng Yao answered Kakashi while simultaneously scanning the surroundings for anyone else.
"They are still alive. Once I finish what I need to do, they will be fine."
"What is it you want to do!"
Listening to Kakashi's interrogation, Feng Yao spoke slowly.
"I want the head of the Fifth Hokage. To achieve that, I am willing to destroy Konoha."
Upon hearing this, anger flared across Kakashi's face. He was a man who had inherited the Will of Fire; he would never allow anyone to harm his comrades.
"If that is the case, how about we make a wager? If I win, you must abandon your plan to destroy Konoha. If you win..."
Feng Yao suddenly waved his hand, cutting him off.
"If I win, I want your Sharingan!"
Kakashi's eyes widened. He touched the eye that had belonged to Obito and finally made up his mind.
"Fine, it's a deal."
With those words, Feng Yao grabbed Kakashi with one hand and whisked him away from the village. If they were to fight directly inside the village, the commotion would be too great.
Watching the scenery shift instantly, Kakashi was once again surprised by Feng Yao's mysterious abilities.
Having been a student of the Fourth, he could naturally tell that Feng Yao was using the Flying Thunder God.
Kakashi stood a few dozen paces away from Feng Yao and stated the rules of the wager.
"Three attacks. No dodging allowed; you must withstand them using ninjutsu. If you survive my three attacks, you win. Otherwise, I win."
This Kakashi is truly formidable.
Feng Yao found the situation tricky. This effectively neutralized his Flying Thunder God; he assumed this was a strategy Kakashi had improvised on the spot.
If he were allowed to use the Flying Thunder God freely, there was no way Kakashi could ever land a hit on him.
Feng Yao pondered for a moment.
"Very well, I agree. I hope you will keep your word as well."
Hearing this, Kakashi's expression turned grave. Even with Feng Yao granting him these three opportunities, he could not guarantee he would defeat him; he could only do his best to gain an advantage.
His hands moved rapidly through the seals. As the Copy Ninja of Konoha, his speed was far superior to the average shinobi. Ox-Rabbit-Monkey.
He then placed his right hand against the ground, gripping his right wrist with his left hand.
"S-rank Ninjutsu: Chidori."
Chakra concentrated in Kakashi's palm, forming a high-intensity electrical current. His hand became like a sharp blade, powerful enough to pierce through a human body. It was one of Kakashi's signature techniques, characterized by a concentrated, piercing strike.
With his Sharingan activated, Kakashi lunged toward Feng Yao, dragging his right hand behind him. The stones on the ground were torn up by the powerful electricity.
Feng Yao bit his finger and slammed it into the ground.
"Summoning Jutsu: Hard Rock Panda."
A burst of white smoke exploded, and a black-and-white panda appeared between them. Its body was composed almost entirely of massive, hard rock—an excellent meat shield.
Boom—
Kakashi's Chidori collided violently with the panda's stomach. The Chidori pierced through most of the panda's body before stopping, but unfortunately, the move failed to harm Feng Yao. Kakashi pulled his arm back and retreated as the panda dissolved into a cloud of smoke.
My technique might be blocked head-on by his summon. In that case...
He performed the same hand seals as before, but this time, Kakashi did not lunge. Instead, he clenched his right hand and made a throwing motion.
"Chidori: Lightning Tiger Kill."
This is a variation of Chidori that takes the form of a wolf, making it more flexible than the original. If Feng Yao were to continue using his summoning beast, Kakashi would maneuver the Lightning Wolf to dodge it and strike Feng Yao directly.
"Kakashi really is a ninja skilled in tactical combat," Feng Yao thought, secretly admiring him.
However, he had no intention of dodging this strike. While Lightning Tiger Kill possessed decent attack power, its piercing capability was inferior to the orthodox Chidori.
Feng Yao tensed his body.
"Rokushiki: Iron Body."
The Lightning Wolf's teeth clamped directly onto Feng Yao's shoulder, and the lightning surged wildly across his body, the electrical assault lasting for several dozen seconds before finally subsiding.
Two bloody holes appeared on Feng Yao's shoulder, along with several other lacerations across his body.
But the bleeding stopped almost immediately. The Xiaoyao Wise Heart Body enhanced his cellular activity, granting Feng Yao an incredibly fast recovery rate—he was practically an unkillable cockroach.
Kakashi began to pant; after all, he was lacking in chakra, and using Chidori twice had left him struggling, yet it was clear that Feng Yao had not sustained any significant injuries.
But he still had one final move. Kakashi took a deep breath.
His Sharingan underwent a transformation, the three tomoe merging into a Mangekyou Sharingan.
"Kamui."
Kakashi glared with his Mangekyou Sharingan, and the space within his line of sight seemed to begin melting. Even Feng Yao dared not be careless when faced with such a powerful space-time ocular jutsu.
Before the space could fully solidify, he quickly formed hand seals.
"Summoning Jutsu: Triple Rashomon."
Rashomon was a form of item summoning, and he was now capable of mastering it.
Three massive gates, nearly a hundred meters tall, rose from the ground, blocking Kakashi's line of sight and preventing Kamui from directly hitting Feng Yao. Kakashi eventually exhausted his strength after destroying only one of the Rashomon gates.
All three techniques had consumed a massive amount of his chakra.
"You've lost, Kakashi."
Feng Yao retracted the Rashomon and walked slowly toward Kakashi.
Panting heavily, Kakashi looked up to see Feng Yao's calm gaze, as if he had long since anticipated his defeat.
Struggling to stand, Kakashi spoke again: "Yes, I lost, but I still want to negotiate one condition with you."
At this, Feng Yao frowned. He hadn't even said anything yet, but Kakashi's requests were coming one after another.
Feng Yao said irritably, "Speak quickly. Once you're done, I'm taking your Sharingan."
"Taking my Sharingan is fine, but I want to ask you to help me—to help Konoha. In exchange, you can kill Danzo without facing any repercussions," the weak-voiced Kakashi proposed.
Upon hearing this, Feng Yao teased, "Why should I agree to your terms? I could just destroy Konoha, and then kill Danzo—who would be left to hold me accountable?"
The moment Kakashi proposed this, Feng Yao had already considered many things. The Third Hokage belonged to the moderate faction, while Danzo belonged to the militant faction. As a high-ranking official, the Third naturally knew about Danzo's war operations against the Land of Wind, yet the Third could never kill Danzo himself. Kakashi was representing the Third in these negotiations.
Hearing Feng Yao's initial refusal, Kakashi did not panic, but instead calmly analyzed the situation for him.
"If you destroy Konoha, other nations will surely view you as a thorn in their side, and your life won't necessarily be easy. But if you agree to our terms, we will provide you with a certain level of assistance when you kill Danzo, provided you do not harm anyone else."
"When it comes down to it, your only enemy is Danzo. We also feel sad about what happened to your parents, but the Third Hokage never made things difficult for them while he was in power, and they wouldn't want to see you destroy Konoha for the sake of revenge."
At these words, Feng Yao's expression softened significantly, but in the ninja world, strength was what mattered. He did not believe that siding with the Third would offer him any real help.
"Kakashi, I admit what you said makes some sense, but even if I agree, what kind of help can you give me? Based on you? Or the Third?"
At that moment, a voice answered in place of Kakashi.
"Based on me!"
Feng Yao turned his head, and the sight of the figure made his pupils constrict.
Feng Yao then turned back to Kakashi and smiled meaningfully: "I should have guessed. I agree to your terms."
