The Battle Against Kakashi

"Kakashi, what are you doing here?"

Kakashi froze when he saw Shikamaru. The boy seemed to know where Naruto and Sasuke were. 💜💜

"No! Sasuke and the others will die!"

Seeing Sakura so frantic, Shikamaru hurried to explain.

"Don't be scared, Sakura. What that guy planted in me wasn't some kind of surveillance technique. I don't know what it was, but I'm sure it couldn't be used to monitor me."

Only then did Sakura begin to calm down. After Shikamaru explained what had happened, Kakashi understood the whole situation.

Kakashi immediately searched for Feng Yao. Finally, he thought of something and headed down a nearby alley.

This was Feng Yao's home, and sure enough, he was there.

Dust covered the room, and scattered, shabby furniture littered the floor. Feng Yao sat on a chair that looked ready to collapse at any moment.

When he saw Kakashi suddenly enter, Feng Yao paused in surprise.

Then he calmly said, "Looks like Shikamaru saw through the technique I planted."

Kakashi watched Feng Yao cautiously. He knew the man was extremely dangerous, but he had a backup plan of his own.

"He's a clever kid. What have you done with Naruto and Sasuke?"

Kakashi's first concern was still the safety of Naruto and Sasuke.

Now that his identity had been exposed, Feng Yao answered Kakashi while also checking to see if anyone else was nearby.

"They're alive. Once I've done what I came here to do, they'll be fine."

"What are you planning to do?"

At Kakashi's demand, Feng Yao slowly replied, "I want the Fifth Hokage's head. I'm willing to destroy Konoha to get it."

Kakashi's face immediately darkened with anger. He had inherited the Will of Fire and would never let anyone hurt his comrades.

"If that's what you want, then let's make a wager. If I win, you have to give up on destroying Konoha. If you win..."

Feng Yao suddenly raised a hand to cut him off.

"If I win, I want your Sharingan!"

Kakashi's eyes widened. He touched the eye Obito had given him, then finally made up his mind.

"Fine. It's a deal."

With that, Feng Yao grabbed Kakashi with one hand and took him out of the village. If they fought inside Konoha, the disturbance would be too great.

As the scenery changed around him in an instant, Kakashi was once again amazed by Feng Yao's mysterious abilities.

He had once been the Fourth Hokage's student, so he could tell that Feng Yao had used the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Kakashi stood a few dozen steps away from Feng Yao and laid out the rules of their wager.

"Three attacks. You can't dodge; you can only endure them with ninjutsu. If you withstand all three, you win. Otherwise, I win."

Kakashi really was impressive.

Feng Yao found himself in a bind. This rule effectively took the Flying Thunder God Technique out of play. Kakashi must have come up with the strategy on the spot after seeing him use it.

If Feng Yao were allowed to use the Flying Thunder God Technique freely, Kakashi would never be able to hit him.

Feng Yao thought it over for a moment.

"Fine, I agree. I hope you'll keep your word, too."

Kakashi's expression turned serious. Even with three chances to attack, he couldn't be sure he could defeat Feng Yao. He could only do his best to give himself an advantage.

His hands moved rapidly through a series of Hand Seals. As Konoha's Copy Ninja, he could form them much faster than an ordinary person. Ox—Rabbit—Monkey.

Then he planted his right hand on the ground and gripped his right wrist with his left hand.

"S-rank ninjutsu: Chidori."

Chakra gathered in Kakashi's palm, forming a powerful current of electricity. His hand became a blade, strong enough to pierce a human body. It was one of Kakashi's signature techniques, a thrust designed to concentrate its force on a single point.

With his Sharingan activated, Kakashi dragged his right hand behind him and charged at Feng Yao. The powerful lightning kicked stones up from the ground.

Feng Yao bit his finger and slapped his palm against the ground.

"Summoning Technique: Hard Rock Panda."

A cloud of white smoke burst open, and a black-and-white panda appeared between them. Its body was made almost entirely of huge, solid rocks, making it an excellent shield.

Kakashi's Chidori collided violently with the panda's belly. The attack pierced deep into its body before finally stopping, but it hadn't reached Feng Yao. Kakashi pulled out his arm and retreated as the panda dissolved into smoke.

"My technique might be blocked head-on by his summoned beast. In that case..."

He formed the same Hand Seals as before, but this time Kakashi didn't thrust forward. Instead, he clenched his right hand and made a throwing motion.

"Chidori: Lightning Tiger Kill!"

It was a variation of Chidori that took the form of a wolf. It was more agile than Chidori, so if Feng Yao summoned another beast, Kakashi could guide the Lightning Wolf around it and strike Feng Yao directly.

"Kakashi really is good at outsmarting his opponents," Feng Yao thought, impressed.

But he had no intention of dodging this attack. Although Lightning Tiger Kill was powerful, it couldn't pierce through a target as effectively as the standard Chidori.

Feng Yao tensed his body.

"Rokushiki: Iron Body."

The Lightning Wolf sank its teeth into Feng Yao's shoulder. Electricity surged wildly through his body, and the attack lasted for dozens of seconds before finally stopping.

Two bloody holes marked Feng Yao's shoulder, and he had several other injuries as well.

But the bleeding soon stopped. The Xiaoyao Wise Heart Body boosted his cellular activity, allowing him to recover at an incredible speed. He was practically impossible to kill.

Kakashi began to pant. His chakra reserves were limited, and using Chidori twice had taken a toll on him. Feng Yao, meanwhile, had barely been hurt.

But Kakashi still had one last move. He took a deep breath.

His Sharingan changed. The three tomoe fused together, forming a Mangekyō Sharingan.

"Kamui."

Kakashi opened his Mangekyō Sharingan wide. The space in his line of sight seemed to melt. Even Feng Yao didn't dare underestimate such a powerful space-time dōjutsu.

Before the space could fully take shape, he quickly formed Hand Seals.

"Summoning Technique: Triple Rashomon."

Rashomon was a type of summoned tool, and Feng Yao could use it now.

Three gates, each nearly a hundred meters tall, rose from the earth and blocked Kakashi's line of sight. Kamui couldn't hit Feng Yao directly. Kakashi managed to destroy the Rashomon gate in front of him, but then he ran out of strength.

All three techniques had consumed a massive amount of his chakra.

"You lost, Kakashi."

Feng Yao dismissed the Rashomon and walked slowly up to Kakashi.

Panting heavily, Kakashi looked up and met Feng Yao's calm gaze. It seemed he had expected Kakashi to lose from the start.

After struggling to his feet, Kakashi spoke again. "Yes, I lost. But I'd still like to discuss another condition with you."

Feng Yao frowned. He hadn't even had a chance to say anything, and Kakashi was already making one request after another.

"Just say it. Once you're done, I'm taking your Sharingan."

"I don't mind you taking my Sharingan, but I want to ask you to help me—and Konoha. You can kill Danzo without being held accountable." Kakashi made his request in a weak voice.

Feng Yao replied mockingly, "Why should I agree? I could destroy Konoha and then kill Danzo. Who would hold me accountable?"

When Kakashi made his offer, Feng Yao had already figured out a lot. The Third was a cautious leader, while Danzo was a hardliner. As a senior Konoha official, the Third was certainly aware of Danzo's military actions against the Land of Wind. But the Third couldn't kill Danzo himself, so Kakashi was negotiating with Feng Yao on his behalf.

Kakashi wasn't worried by Feng Yao's initial refusal. Instead, he calmly explained his reasoning.

"If you destroy Konoha, the other nations will see you as a threat, and your life won't necessarily be any easier. But if you agree to our request, we'll help you when you kill Danzo. You just can't hurt anyone else."

"Your only enemy is Danzo, after all. We're sorry about what happened to your parents, but the Third never made things difficult for them while he was in office. They wouldn't want you to destroy Konoha for revenge."

At that, Feng Yao's expression softened, but in the shinobi world, strength spoke louder than words. He didn't think the Third could offer him much help, even if he sided with him.

"Kakashi, I admit that you make some sense. But even if I agree, what can you do for me? You? Or the Third?"

At that moment, a voice answered in Kakashi's place.

"Me!"

Feng Yao turned to look, and his pupils shrank at the sight of the figure.

Then he turned back to Kakashi and gave him a knowing smile. "I should've guessed. I accept your terms."
