The Third Coffin

A member of the Second's elite guard.

He had a strong Will of Fire and devoted his entire life to Konoha. He was also one of the few Uchiha trusted by the Second.

Kagami Uchiha!

Kagami had appeared only briefly in Naruto, so Feng Yao hadn't recognized him at first.

The two Hokage and Kagami Uchiha hadn't yet been completely stripped of their consciousness. They glanced around, and when they saw Danzo's corpse, the Second's pupils contracted involuntarily.

"Was Danzo killed? And the one who summoned us is just a young man. People these days are remarkable. So, is this good-looking young man our opponent?"

"In that case, we have no choice but to fight him. Which Konoha clan are you from?"

"First Hokage, Second, I never imagined we'd meet again under these circumstances. It seems Konoha is in a very bad state."

Seeing the corpses on the ground and Sunagakure's forces attacking, the three couldn't help feeling sorrow. They were dead, yet had been summoned back to the living world to help outsiders destroy their own village.

"They're the successive Hokage and Kagami Uchiha!"

Rasa, watching from the side, was naturally shocked, especially by the two Hokage. They were the legendary God of Shinobi, Hashirama, and the master of ninjutsu, Tobirama.

Orochimaru was very pleased by the astonished expressions on Rasa and the others.

Feng Yao, however, remained perfectly calm. He'd already known who was inside. His composed gaze made Orochimaru feel insulted.

"Hmph. Let's get started. Enjoy yourself, Yao-kun."

As he spoke, he drove three kunai, each wrapped with a talisman, into the backs of their heads.

The dust covering the three began to disappear, making them look more and more like living people. Their consciousness was erased, turning them into tools that knew nothing but slaughter.

"Please, no... Lord Orochimaru... Cough, cough."

Tayuya saw what was happening and tried to stop him, but after only a couple of steps she fell to the ground, coughing up blood.

Feng Yao wanted to speak up when he saw her, but if Orochimaru heard him, he would probably use her as a hostage to threaten him. So Feng Yao focused on the people in front of him instead.

The First Hokage brought his hands together without even forming Hand Seals.

"Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence!"

A technique that used chakra as a source of life. Trees rapidly sprang from the earth, seemingly tearing themselves from the ground to form a forest in an instant. Guided by Hashirama, they surged toward Feng Yao, ready to swallow him whole.

As expected, the First Hokage's Wood Release is the strongest. What I can do probably isn't even half as powerful.

Feng Yao bit his finger and summoned Rashomon to block the attack.

"Summoning Technique: Triple Rashomon!"

Three gates, each hundreds of meters tall, burst from the ground and collided violently with Hashirama's Wood Release. The first gate showed signs of collapsing almost immediately; only the second managed to hold out. At that moment, Kagami Uchiha attacked. As a member of the Uchiha Clan, he naturally excelled at Fire Release.

Kagami rapidly formed Hand Seals, took a deep breath until his belly swelled slightly, then exhaled.

"Fire Release: Dragon Flame Release Song Technique!"

Four dragons of flame burst from Kagami's mouth, attacking from above, below, left, and right. Their power and heat couldn't be underestimated, and the Wood Release only made them more destructive. The remaining two gates fell one after another. Billowing clouds of dust made the shinobi downwind squeeze their eyes shut and cough.

But Feng Yao was nowhere to be seen. Orochimaru frowned and was about to search for him when Feng Yao emerged from the ground behind him using Intangibility. He'd summoned Rashomon just to block Orochimaru's view.

"Lord Orochimaru! Look out behind you!"

Kimimaro noticed at once and pulled out his own spine, ready to attack. But Feng Yao wasn't about to give him the chance. He grabbed Orochimaru by the shoulder.

Whoosh!

A Kamui Vortex appeared in Feng Yao's right eye. His right-eye Kamui was suited to defense, movement, and close-range attacks. It could suck himself and other objects into another dimension, and its passive ability, Intangibility, let him shift his body into that dimension to avoid any damage.

The surrounding scenery and Orochimaru's body began to twist. Feng Yao tried to pull Orochimaru into the Kamui Dimension.

"Damn it! Is that some kind of space-time ninjutsu? Attack him, quickly!"

Orochimaru was already within the technique's range. There was no escaping it, but Kimimaro was still dozens of steps away.

The Second moved. He was even faster than Kimimaro.

Shhk—

"Water Release: Water Severing Wave!"

The Second spat out a powerful, high-pressure stream of water in a straight line. It formed a razor-sharp blade of water and shot toward Feng Yao. If Feng Yao insisted on absorbing Orochimaru, the Second would cut him in half.

Unlike ordinary Water Release techniques, Tobirama had used this one in the original story to sever the God Tree's roots one after another.

Feng Yao had no choice but to stop absorbing Orochimaru and activate Intangibility to dodge the attack. The water jet sliced through the earth and the boulder behind him, leaving a smooth, level cut.

Orochimaru took the opportunity to put some distance between himself and Feng Yao. He'd thought he was being careful enough, but he'd still almost fallen for Feng Yao's trick.

Feng Yao looked at Orochimaru, now far away, as well as Kimimaro and the successive Hokage nearby. He knew he'd missed his best chance to defeat Orochimaru.

"Be careful. He can probably use ninjutsu to make himself intangible and dodge attacks, but he was in a solid state when he used that space-time eye technique just now. Otherwise, I'd have already died. It seems your eyes hold plenty of secrets too, Yao-kun."

Orochimaru spoke warily, explaining what he'd just figured out. Information was crucial in a shinobi battle. Seeing that Orochimaru had already worked out how his ability functioned, Feng Yao didn't want to keep dragging things out. His chakra wasn't unlimited.

The scene shifted to the ground. The Sand shinobi and Konoha shinobi faced off on opposite sides. But with the Hokage dead, the Sand shinobi's morale had soared, and they were gradually gaining the upper hand.

"Wind Release: Pressure Damage!"

Shukaku spat a huge ball of chakra-laden wind from his mouth, attacking the Konoha shinobi. Just as they were about to scatter, a small figure stepped in front of them. He looked as though a strong gust of wind could snap him in two.

"Earth Release: Earth Style Wall!"

The terrifying blast struck the wall. Though it broke through, it kept the people behind it from being hurt.

When everyone saw who had arrived, their faces lit up.

"Third Hokage, you're finally here to take command!"

"Wonderful! With the Third Hokage here, we're sure to win!"

"Please lead us once more!"

The Third Hokage waved for them to quiet down, then issued orders for the battle ahead. Their top priority was driving the invading Sand shinobi and the rogue ninja Feng Yao and Orochimaru out of Konoha.

"Use a barrier to contain the One-Tail. Kakashi, Guy, and I will restrain it."

Then the Third Hokage used the Summoning Technique to summon Enma.

"Adamantine Prison Wall!"

Enma transformed into a staff and bound Shukaku tightly. But Shukaku was fierce, clawing repeatedly at the cage and making the staff tremble.

"Wind Release: Sand Scatter Shot!"

The attack used wind to strengthen the sand pellets, giving them enough force to pierce an opponent's body and pin them down.

Kakashi immediately summoned Multiple Earth Style Walls to block the attack.

Boom!

The One-Tail's attack failed once more.

By then, the Four Violet Flames Formation set up by the Konoha shinobi was ready. The three of them went inside to subdue the One-Tail.

During the battle, the Third Hokage quietly glanced toward the high platform, reassured.

I'm counting on you. You have to defeat Orochimaru.

After their exchange, Orochimaru had realized that the ninjutsu Feng Yao used to absorb people was probably a dōjutsu.

So the Second used the genjutsu he'd created back in the day.

"Bringer-of-Darkness Technique!"

This genjutsu robbed its victims of their sight. It had been created to counter the Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan.

Seeing Feng Yao looking completely bewildered, Orochimaru knew the technique had worked. He immediately ordered Kimimaro and the others to attack. He didn't believe Feng Yao could stay intangible forever.

Indeed, Intangibility only lasted five minutes.

"Wood Release: Advent of the World!"

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"

"Fire Release: Great Fireball!"

"Shikotsumyaku: Dance of the Eightfold Vines!"

Yet even though Feng Yao was the one under attack, Orochimaru felt a sense of danger. Feng Yao's eyes looked confused, but they were fixed on him.

Reacting on instinct, Orochimaru used the Orochimaru-Style Substitution Technique.

He opened his mouth, peeled it open with both hands, then pulled out his body, his lower half a snake's tail slick with mucus.

The very next moment, space twisted where Orochimaru had just been.

Crack—

The entire substitute was twisted and sucked into another dimension.

Feng Yao's spiritual power had long since grown beyond measure. Especially after his body changed, he could resist the vast majority of genjutsu. Of course, he wasn't confident he could withstand the strongest genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami.

So he'd pretended to fall under the genjutsu, hoping to catch Orochimaru off guard.

Then he'd used the long-range attack of his left-eye Kamui to finish Orochimaru off, but Orochimaru had still sensed the danger.

The left-eye Kamui could twist space anywhere in the user's field of vision and send the target to another dimension. It was extremely powerful offensively. Kakashi could use it too, but he hadn't yet mastered it fully.

After his Kamui failed, Feng Yao used Flying Thunder God to escape to a safe place.

Then he called out, "As one of the Sannin, Lord Orochimaru, surely you won't go back on your word? If you don't come out soon, I'll join forces with Sunagakure and attack Konoha!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a huge cloud of white smoke burst open in the center.

A huge orange toad crouched on the ground.

"Immortal Toad Sage, Jiraiya of Mount Myoboku, is here! Long time no see, Orochimaru."
