Qin Mo, whose consciousness was not currently controlling his Living Metal body in the Maelstrom, had focused his attention on the front lines. He was pleased after hearing Lion's report.
"You have proven yourself, Lion," Qin Mo said. "You are a child the Emperor can be proud of. You are no weaker than Imotekh, the Storm King who fought in the War in Heaven. You are a qualified military commander. You already proved during the Golden Crusade that you were absolutely suited to be a Warmaster, but I still have to say it now: you have once again proven yourself a fitting candidate for Warmaster."
At those words, the corner of Lion's mouth twitched upward slightly. After that nearly imperceptible change in expression, he fixed his serious, steady gaze on the tactical table, then looked up at Qin Mo. "Has the Emperor ever said I was a child he was proud of?"
"He would not say it to your face, but I guarantee that after this war ends, he will possess Vanessa and quietly say it to me," Qin Mo replied with a smile.
Lion nodded calmly and returned his attention to the tactical table.
