The sequential activation of ground-based anti-ship weapons brought Iron Ring's passive beating to an end. Just like the fleet besieging Iron Ring, it hid behind its shields and opened fire.
Against large warships, the Orbital Defense Platform's retaliatory firepower was exceptionally lethal.
The anti-ship weapons carried by warships could also be deployed on the ground, in even greater numbers and at larger scales.

According to the prearranged plan, the expedition fleet concentrated its fire on the section connecting Iron Ring to the planet.
In less than ten minutes of Real Universe time, the massive flagship Glorious Humanity unleashed enough firepower to turn half a planet's surface into a sea of flames. Yet when that firepower struck the Void Shield alongside the attacks of the other warships, it produced only faint ripples.
On the bridge, the team of Tech-Priests brought by Cawl was calculating at full capacity. Even the slightest clue displayed by the ship's Augur Array became the basis for their calculations.
The results were fed into the Thinker Array aboard Invincible Truth, the Dark Angels' flagship. By comparing them with existing Void Shield data across the universe, they sought to determine exactly what kind of Void Shield the Iron Warriors traitors were using.

They could not find even the slightest technical principle behind the Void Shield used by the traitors.
It had been Lion's idea to connect the Tech-Priests to Invincible Truth. He believed that among all the treasures in the former First Legion's vaults, gifts bestowed by the Emperor, there had to be powerful Void Shields—perhaps
