On the Protagonist's Martial Soul and the Question of Possession

The protagonist is not a soul-possessor but a reborn soul, awakening his memories just before turning six. As for the reason, to drop a spoiler, it counts as a non-system golden finger that will be explained in the mid-game.

The protagonist's parents are not particularly powerful Soul Masters, only reaching the levels of Soul Elder and Soul Ancestor. Therefore, his Martial Soul is not guaranteed to be exceptionally strong.

The higher the Innate Soul Power, the stronger the Martial Soul. However, a strong Martial Soul does not necessarily mean high Innate Soul Power. Even for something as powerful as the Clear Sky Hammer, few possess Innate Full Soul Power; many have only three or five levels. In Douluo Dalu II, Huo Yuhao also had very low Innate Soul Power.

The reason the protagonist possesses Twin Martial Souls is because he cultivated the complementary Supreme Universe Art and Five Thunders Heart Art. In the later stages, his Martial Souls will gradually grow alongside the advancement of these two techniques.

Regarding the issue of the protagonist only awakening five levels of Innate Soul Power after two months of cultivation, this is not a forced nerf. Martial arts require a foundation-building process; whether it is The Degenerates or Tang San from Douluo Dalu, both underwent foundation building.

Tang San began his foundation building and cultivation as early as one or two years old. The original work mentions that it was only three months before his Martial Soul awakening that Tang San broke through the first layer of the Mysterious Heaven Skill, achieving Innate Full Soul Power.

Regarding the issue of Shrek students having Innate Soul Power of eight, nine, or ten levels: at the beginning of the original work, Tang San mentioned this after learning that Xiao Wu had Innate Full Soul Power. That is because their inherent talent and Martial Souls were formidable, allowing them to automatically generate soul power upon awakening, whereas Tang San relied on his own step-by-step cultivation.

It is impossible for the protagonist to manifest Innate Full Soul Power immediately upon awakening just because he has Twin Martial Souls.

Twin Martial Souls do not necessarily equate to Innate Full Soul Power. The appearance of Innate Full Soul Power is only possible when the quality of the parents' Martial Souls is similar. There is also a very small chance for Twin Martial Souls to be born from slightly inferior but similar-quality Martial Souls; they do not have to be at the level of the Clear Sky Hammer, Blue Silver Emperor, Death Spider Emperor, or Soul-Eater Spider Emperor.

There is one more crucial point: the original work mentioned that Tang San once considered teaching Xiao Wu the Mysterious Heaven Skill. However, by then, Xiao Wu's soul power was already at several dozen levels; to cultivate the Mysterious Heaven Skill, one would have to start from zero, which would be a loss outweighing the gain.

This means that even if Oscar had started cultivating the Mysterious Heaven Skill before his Martial Soul awakening, it was too late for him to awaken with Innate Full Soul Power.
