The heavy cruiser White Knight docked alongside the largest supply ship in the transport fleet, and a transit bridge was established between the two vessels.
The supply ship was not merely delivering goods to the White Knight.
The White Knight had something to transfer to the supply ship as well.

The two made their way onto the transit bridge.

The bridge was enclosed in transparent energy, shielding it from the harshness of the void.
That energy was not solid and could be passed through.
Some Transports from the supply ship flew in through the void and landed on the bridge. After loading their cargo, they directly delivered it to other sections of the White Knight, making the process faster and more convenient.
The heavier cargo, meanwhile, had to be carried across the bridge by enormous haulers before entering the White Knight.
