The squad would have reached the place Oll was seeking without incident, but along the way, a Bolter suddenly extended from around a corner and aimed at Oenomamus.

Oeno instinctively sensed that something was wrong, but as a mortal, he reacted too slowly. Just as he was about to dodge on reflex, the bolt had already reached the back of his head.

Within the firelight, the silhouette of a bloated Space Marine covered in fleshly tumors was illuminated.

"A traitor from the Death Guard?" Abaddon frowned. "There weren't that many Sons of Mortarion who betrayed their Legion. Why can't we kill them all?"

As he complained, more Plague Marines charged out from branching corridors.

There was no time to figure out why the Plague Marines were here. The squad immediately engaged the enemy.

Avida raised a hand and used his psychic power to seize the enemies rushing from the corridor behind them.

The rest of the squad turned to deal with the enemies charging out from the corner ahead.

Everyone had enemies of their own to face.

Oll Persson used an ancient weapon to blast apart the Plague Marine before him.

Erebus, Abaddon, and Dantiok tangled with the Plague Marines and quickly claimed victory as well.

When Oenomamus faced an enemy with his sword, a bolt shot the ancient blade from his hand, and before he could react, a punch sent him flying.
