Ten Consecutive Draws

Before long, after flying only a short distance, Aragaki Yasushi ended his Paper Crane transformation and dove into the woods beside him to hide.

Floating around in the sky was way too conspicuous. He'd be like a moving target.

Besides, his Origami form had a fatal flaw: it was afraid of fire!

If some Iwa Ninja lost their temper and casually threw out a Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique, he'd turn to ash on the spot.

Getting taken out by a benevolent technique would bring shame on every otherworlder.

After landing, Aragaki Yasushi got his bearings and took off running.

Iwagakure Camp had just been bombed. It was only a matter of time before those guys came after them. If he didn't run, he'd be trapped like a turtle in a jar.

He hadn't run far when he spotted two familiar figures in the woods: Asuma and Yuhi Kurenai, waiting to meet him.

"Yasushi, did you finish the mission?"

The girl, Yuhi Kurenai, hurried over first, a hopeful look in her eyes and a soft voice. She was the complete opposite of Asuma, who stood beside her with a sour expression, smoking at such a young age.

Asuma wore a Chunin vest, his arms crossed and a cigarette dangling from his mouth. He rolled his eyes.

"Do you even have to ask? That was one hell of a blast. I bet the whole Iwagakure Camp went up in the air. I could feel the ground shaking from here."

Aragaki Yasushi nodded, his tone calm. "I blew up the warehouse."

"But we need to get moving. Once those Iwa Ninja come to their senses, they'll figure out where we are sooner or later. We'll be in trouble if they surround us."

The three didn't waste time talking. They immediately headed for Konoha Camp.

Asuma took the lead. He was the Hokage's son, after all, and had received a good education. His skills were reliable enough.

Yuhi Kurenai, who specialized in genjutsu, walked in the middle, protected by the other two.

Aragaki Yasushi, the strongest of them, brought up the rear.

It wasn't that Aragaki Yasushi had been useless before. He'd just been pretty average.

But what could he do? He had a cheat.

After obtaining the True Magic paper, his strength had risen to a whole new level.

Yuhi Kurenai and Asuma were Aragaki Yasushi's teammates.

Ever since the day they graduated from the Ninja Academy, the three of them had been put together as a team, weathering hardship after hardship.

They had only just managed to get through the Chunin Ninja Exams and become Chunin. Before they could celebrate, they were sent off to war.

Of course, if not for the Hokage's son, they probably would've been sent to the battlefield before they even made Chunin.

Aragaki Yasushi's instructor was Akimichi Doto of the Akimichi Clan. He was a decent guy, always cheerful and quite dependable.

The main reason he'd been assigned to train Aragaki Yasushi's team was Asuma.

The Ino-Shika-Cho Clans and the Sarutobi Clan had been on good terms since the Warring States period. They were staunch supporters of the Hokage.

Naturally, they'd find the Hokage's son a teacher from among their ranks.

However, after they went to the battlefield, Akimichi Doto had trained them for less than a month before joining Minato Namikaze and Inuzuka Gaku on a high-risk mission where the odds of survival were slim. He'd left the three of them to fend for themselves.

Fortunately, their team usually got relatively safe jobs.

Things like sabotaging enemy supplies, stealing intelligence, or patrolling and standing guard. The tasks weren't too difficult, which was a blessing in disguise.

Of course, whenever Akimichi Doto had time, he'd come back to train them and help them get used to the pace of the battlefield, so they wouldn't actually end up dead.

As they traveled, Aragaki Yasushi secretly opened the system panel while no one was looking.

[Mission "Sabotage the Iwagakure Warehouse" completed!]

"Finally, it's done!"

Aragaki Yasushi cheered inwardly.

He needed points to draw cards, and the only way to get points was to complete missions.

The problem was, the system didn't assign missions on its own. He had to find a way to trigger them.

So far, Aragaki Yasushi had only figured out one method: accept missions from the village to trigger system missions.

Fortunately, he could reap rewards from both sides. The village gave him mission pay, and the system gave him points for draws.

A huge profit!

That was exactly why Aragaki Yasushi had turned into a mission maniac lately, snatching up every village mission he could and farming points like crazy. He'd even scared the wits out of Yuhi Kurenai and Asuma.

But the benefits were real!

Aragaki Yasushi glanced at the system panel.

[Points: 950]

He finally had enough to make ten consecutive draws!

He quickly opened the pool.

A thoughtful note appeared under the limited-time pool: "One draw costs 100 points. Ten draws are 10% off!"

Without the discount, Aragaki Yasushi's 950 points wouldn't have been enough.

He'd been only 50 points short. That would've driven someone with his obsessive-compulsive tendencies insane.

Aragaki Yasushi didn't hesitate for a second. He hadn't even considered saving his points.

Come on, this battlefield was a place where he could get killed at any moment. He might get buried alive by an Iwa Ninja's Earth Release in the next second.

Save his points instead of using them?

Was he supposed to leave them as an offering after he died?

That'd make him a complete sucker. He'd have to be out of his mind.

Aragaki Yasushi decisively tapped the button for ten consecutive draws.

The next moment, a string of item notifications flooded the screen:

[Lizard Specimen]

[Soul Glasses]

[C4 Explosive]

[AK-47]

[Pepsi]

[Coca-Cola]

[Fire Axe]

[Apache Helicopter]

[Petrification Poison]

[Energy Scroll]

Aragaki Yasushi looked at the pile of stuff and twitched the corner of his mouth.

Another pool half full of junk!

What the heck were Pepsi and Coca-Cola?

He was here to fight in a war, not to become a happy little couch potato!

Still, jokes aside, Aragaki Yasushi wasn't too surprised.

After all, Jackie Chan Adventures was set in the modern world. There were all kinds of things he could draw.

Getting a top-tier item like a Talisman or mask was harder than getting Asuma to quit smoking, Kurenai to give up genjutsu, or Kakashi to stop wearing his mask.

He'd be lucky to get anything useful.

But Aragaki Yasushi really hadn't expected to draw an Apache Helicopter.

How was he supposed to use that thing in the Naruto World?

Was he going to have to build an airfield in Konoha?

Maybe he should take the helicopter to Snake Uncle and start a technological revolution, get all the ninjas to stop using ninjutsu and fly planes to bomb people instead.

But it was just a thought. Aragaki Yasushi quickly put the ridiculous idea out of his mind.

The technology in the Naruto World was already all over the place. Snake Uncle had even developed robots, and Scientific Ninja Tools would come along later.

Maybe Snake Uncle could build an Apache himself.

Setting those thoughts aside, Aragaki Yasushi began carefully sorting through the things he'd drawn. The more he looked, the happier he got.

Well, actually, it wasn't all junk. There were some good things in there!

First was the Energy Scroll.

Aragaki Yasushi was very satisfied.

This was probably the guaranteed good item in a ten-draw set. At least the draw hadn't been wasted. Judging by its performance in the original series, it was a junior version of the Dragon Talisman.

The other items weren't too shabby either:

[Lizard Specimen: Old Master's Lizard Specimen. Apply various strange ingredients to the specimen to create spells for different purposes.]

This was also quite good. The only problem was that Aragaki Yasushi didn't know True Magic.

If he drew a spellbook from the Jackie Chan Adventures world someday, he could learn a thing or two.

Of course, with no one to teach him and only self-study, he might not be able to learn it.

Besides, the bodies of people in the Ninja World were different from those in the Jackie Chan Adventures world.

But if he could draw a skill directly, he wouldn't have to worry about that.
