Background
Aragaki Yasushi is a transmigrator in the ninja world who possesses a card-drawing system connected to powers and items from other worlds. His first major draw comes from the Jackie Chan Adventures pool: the Paper Thief's magic paper, granting him Origami Magic. To conceal its non-ninjutsu origin, he presents the ability as a self-developed Paper Style secret technique comparable to Konan's abilities. Konoha consequently regards him as a prodigy on Kakashi's level 1.
During the war with Iwagakure, Yasushi infiltrates an enemy supply camp by transforming into inconspicuous paper forms, burns its warehouse, plants gacha-drawn explosives, and escapes as a paper crane. The resulting blast devastates more than half of the camp 1. With instructor Akimichi Doto frequently absent, he acts as captain for Asuma and Yuhi Kurenai during field operations 3.
His combat record grows rapidly across the Iwa and Mist fronts. He helps destroy Kannabi Bridge, participates in the elimination of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen alongside Might Duy, kills Zabuza during a mission to rendezvous with Yoiichi Kumade, and is later promoted to jōnin 10 28 35 36. During the Kirigakure rebellion, he works with Konoha forces and Mist rebels against the Third Mizukage; he is subsequently credited with defeating the Mizukage 40 53.
Yasushi later secretly rescues Nohara Rin from Kirigakure's Three-Tails sealing operation, captures Isobu with a Master Ball, and protects the truth from both Konoha and Kirigakure 56 60. After joining Anbu, he leads missions on the Kumogakure front, defeats and captures the Two-Tails jinchūriki Yugito, and helps make her capture a bargaining point in ceasefire negotiations 74 76 82.
Appearance
Yasushi can radically alter his body through Origami Magic and related abilities, often fighting in forms far removed from his normal human appearance.
- Can become paper animals, insects, paper dolls, letters, wings, and other objects for infiltration or escape 1.
- Uses multi-armed Paper Person forms, including eight arms and four wings 27.
- Can assume a Three Heads and Six Arms form for near-complete visual coverage 15.
- Can enlarge himself to the size of the Two-Tails while his clothing and equipment expand with him 80.
- His Demon Cloak manifests as blue-purple energy resembling the hippopotamus-headed Thunder Demon Tso Lan 68.
Personality
Yasushi is calculating, pragmatic, and strongly motivated by system points, which he views as the means to obtain stronger cards. He regularly seeks out dangerous missions for their rewards and is willing to exploit battlefield opportunities, including joining Might Duy against the Seven Ninja Swordsmen partly because of the potential payout 17 24.
He is confident to the point of arrogance in battle, particularly when facing opponents he believes he outclasses. He taunts Ao over the latter's stolen Byakugan, dismisses ordinary Mist Ninja as beneath him, and openly calls himself the man who assassinated the Third Mizukage 20 58.
Despite his self-interest and frequent deception, Yasushi repeatedly acts to protect comrades. He worries about Kakashi and Rin, independently investigates their prisoner-exchange mission, rescues Rin from the Three-Tails operation, and accepts the mission to recover Kakashi, Rin, and Hyuga Takuya 54 56 58. He is especially protective of Asuma, though he often mocks him for recklessness 4 14.
Abilities & Skills
Origami Magic and Paper Style
Yasushi's foundational power comes from the Paper Thief's magic paper. It is magic rather than conventional Transformation Jutsu, allowing him to evade ordinary ninja sensory detection when disguised as an object such as a letter 1.
- Transforms into paper creatures and objects for stealth, reconnaissance, flight, and escape 1.
- Can form paper wings, cranes, and boats for aerial or sea travel 1 20.
- Developed legitimate chakra-based Paper Style techniques by imitating the properties of his Origami Magic 5.
- Has few conventional vital points in Paper Person form; severed portions can be restored unless his body is completely incinerated 15.
- Is vulnerable to fire and can be impaired by water, which wrinkles his paper body 2 16.
Paper Person Transformations
Yasushi can reshape his paper body into specialized combat forms.
- Three Heads and Six Arms — Provides all-direction observation and multiple simultaneous attacks; used to counter Mist Ninja ambushes in dense fog 15 16.
- Eight-Blade Style: Blind Slash — An eight-armed form whose paper-blade arms attack through brute-force slashing rather than refined swordsmanship 8.
- Paper Bullet Chariot — A giant paper hedgehog form that rolls into enemies behind a mass of paper spikes 9.
- Paper shield and scythe forelegs — Can create defensive shields and sharp limbs capable of cutting through opponents; the blade-like limbs are less reliable against sharp weapons 4 5.
- Paper clone — Used to deceive allies and remain behind as protection for Rin and Kakashi 54 58.
Talisman Powers
Yasushi draws several talismans from the Jackie Chan Adventures pool, then permanently absorbs the Ox, Horse, and Dog Talismans through Absorption Magic 10 11 51 59.
- Ox Talisman — Grants immense physical strength, making his body comparable to a jōnin's and supporting techniques such as Million Ton Punch 13 24.
- Horse Talisman — Heals injuries and purifies harmful conditions; it can restore severe damage to his paper body within minutes 11 15.
- Dog Talisman — Provides immunity to death and non-fatal injuries 51 79.
- Fire Breath — Absorbs external flames or expels high-temperature fire, removing fire as a major weakness of his Paper Style 71.
Absorption Magic
Daolon Wong's Dark Chi Magic manifests mouths on Yasushi's palms that can consume the magic contained in talismans and magical items 59.
- Absorbed the Ox, Horse, and Dog Talismans into his body, eliminating the risk of losing the physical talismans 59.
- Absorbed the powers of the Universal Gravitation Scroll and Energy Scroll 65.
- Partially absorbed Ninja Mask magic, allowing him to summon and command Shadowkhan ninja soldiers 65.
- Absorbing demonic magic can cause dangerous negative emotions and loss of control 65.
Energy Scroll
Lo Pei's Energy Scroll fires destructive green beams without hand seals.
- Produces near-instant green-energy attacks capable of killing enemy ninja outright 5 10.
- Used to kill Raiga Kurosuki and Zabuza 26 35.
- Its absorbed magic later allows Yasushi to fire green beams directly from his palm 65.
Lightning Abilities
Yasushi possesses Lightning nature chakra and gains several lightning-based powers through the Pokémon pool and Thunder Demon Essence 16 68.
- Thunderbolt — Releases powerful lightning; can spread through seawater to kill pursuing enemies 20.
- Charge — Absorbs incoming lightning to empower himself; completely counters Raiga Kurosuki's Lightning Style 24 26.
- Thunder Demon Essence / Demon Cloak — Enhances strength, speed, and reaction time while enabling thought-based lightning manipulation without hand seals 68.
- The Thunder Demon Essence initially overwhelms him with bloodthirsty and violent impulses, requiring the Horse Talisman and a storage canister for containment 65.
- Collaborates with Kakashi on the concept for Chidori Current 72.
Spatial and Sensory Abilities
- Teleport — Instantly moves through space, enabling escape, ambushes, and rapid travel 36 46.
- Eye of Aurora — Provides instant teleportation; used to investigate the abandoned prisoner-exchange site 51 54.
- Magic Mirror — Can observe distant locations, monitor targets, and project illusions 75.
- Clairaudience — Passively detects extremely faint sounds, including approaching footsteps 72 85.
- Clairvoyance — Allows him to view the Land of Waves from afar and monitor Gato 89.
Physical and Combat Techniques
- Million Ton Punch — A high-damage physical trump card enhanced by the Ox Talisman 24.
- Size Manipulation — Enlarges or shrinks his body, with his strength scaling alongside his size 75. He grows to match the Two-Tails and severs two of its tails 80.
- Harden — Increases his defense during combat 40.
- Swallow and Spit Rivers and Seas — Absorbs massive volumes of water; used to swallow Isobu's Water Release attack 82 89.
- Hypnosis — Used to capture Yugito 82.
- Razor Leaf — Launches ranged slashing attacks and can be used to disguise apparent Wood Style 36 56.
- Flexible Yin Yang Sword — A weapon that changes size and shape, from hairpin-scale to a massive blade suited to Yasushi's giant form 72 80.
Healing and Survival
- Recover — A self-owned healing technique that restores injuries through stamina or chakra rather than relying on an external item 36.
- Resurrection Technique — Returns him from death by consuming magical power 85.
- Poison Mist Spray — Produces poisonous mist that can kill targets, obscure vision, and conceal his position 85.
- Butterfly Flight — Transforms him into an inconspicuous butterfly for infiltration 85.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Kiba — Raiga Kurosuki's lightning-conducting ninja sword, acquired after Raiga's death 26.
- Exploding Blade Shibuki — Taken during the Seven Ninja Swordsmen battle 27 32.

- Might Duy — Respected elder and ally during the Seven Ninja Swordsmen battle. Yasushi transports him to the battlefield and supports his fight 24 28.

- Terumi Mei — Kirigakure kunoichi with a tense, flirtatious rapport with Yasushi. They cooperate against the Third Mizukage while remaining mutually suspicious 46 60.
