Background

Zhou Chen was originally known as Meihu, a fox spirit from the Enchanting Fox Clan. After the Monster Alliance targeted her clan, she became one of its surviving members and sought help to rescue her captured younger sister. Zhou Qing's Second Primordial Spirit saved her from the Eight Extremes Wolf King, after which she revealed the Monster Alliance's involvement. 14 15

She accepted Zhou Qing as her master in exchange for his aid. Because every woman of her clan was called Meihu, Zhou Qing gave her the name Zhou Chen, taking his surname and choosing Chen (“morning”) as her given name. 15

Zhou Qing strengthened her through the Eight Extremes Wolf King's Inner Core and a Bagua formation. Despite the extreme pain of the process, Zhou Chen endured and converted the refined energy into her own True Essence and demonic power. 15 16

Appearance

In human form, Zhou Chen is described as pure and beautiful, with large watery eyes and a delicate, cherry-like mouth. After her cultivation enhancement, she gives off a faint, clean fragrance. 16 17 29

Personality

Zhou Chen is deeply devoted to her younger sister, Zhou Can, and to avenging the destruction of the Enchanting Fox Clan. Her urgency to rescue Zhou Can repeatedly makes her impulsive, including rushing ahead during the infiltration of the Monster Alliance's villa despite Zhou Qing's warnings. 16 17

Though initially frightened by the Monster Alliance's leaders, she develops strong trust in Zhou Qing after witnessing his protection and power. She later becomes committed to cultivation and insists that her clan's vengeance should ultimately be carried out by the surviving fox sisters themselves. 18 29 37

She retains compassion despite the harsh cultivation world. Zhou Qing must push her to become more ruthless during conflicts, and she struggles with the tension between mercy and survival. 32

Enchanting Fox Clan Crisis

After being rescued from the Eight Extremes Wolf King, Meihu appeals to Zhou Qing to save her younger sister from the Monster Alliance. She becomes his disciple, receives the name Zhou Chen, and undergoes a painful cultivation enhancement using the Wolf King's Inner Core. 14 15 16

Monster Alliance Infiltration

Zhou Chen accompanies Zhou Qing into the Monster Alliance's villa to locate Zhou Can. Her urgency causes her to rush through a steel door and fall victim to the Five Poison Smoke Cloud Miasma, forcing Zhou Qing to purge the poison from her body with Samadhi True Fire. 17

When Tianxuan Blood Demon presents Zhou Can as a hostage, Zhou Chen is forced to rely on Zhou Qing's negotiations and formations. She escapes the villa carrying her sister after Zhou Qing traps the Blood Demon. 19 20 21

Conflict with Orthodox Cultivators

Zhou Chen uses her Charm Technique against Dragon Group cultivators who ambush her group, but is later trapped and injured by a three-person sword formation. 21

She later fights alongside Liao Xiaojin against four Dragon Group members, wielding her newly received flying sword against the woman controlling the Bagua mirror. 31 32

Revenge and Training

Following Zhou Can's rescue, Zhou Chen dedicates herself to cultivation and insists that the Enchanting Fox Clan's revenge should be personally carried out by its surviving sisters. Zhou Qing agrees to provide her that opportunity while warning her not to let vengeance destabilize her mind. 29
