A Knight of the Holy Grail and a Holy Spirit priest were absolutely the best combination: tanking, healing, and damage; magical attacks and physical damage. Together, they were far more than the sum of their parts.
So Alfred got beaten badly—at least, that was how it looked. Although Alfred did not particularly care about the damage they inflicted on him, being unable to do anything but take hits was still deeply frustrating.
