"You're saying Queen Laeral Silverhand is in the Abyss too? And in the Well of Darkness?!!!" Solam did not refuse Mystra's request. He knew his demands had been a bit excessive, but he had never expected this!
"In other words, you sent so many angels just to rescue Queen Laeral Silverhand?" (In Faerûn, everyone called her Queen Laeral Silverhand. No one used her real name, and Solam had fallen into the same habit.)
Solam immediately thought of the angels' frequent recent appearances.
"Not entirely. At first, I didn't know what had happened to Laeral Silverhand. I searched in secret for several years, but in the end, I had no choice but to seek the help of Savras the All-Seeing. He found the place where Laeral Silverhand had met with trouble, and from the residual energy fluctuations there, he divined that Mystra was imprisoned in the Abyss. That was why I sent angels out, hoping to find Laeral Silverhand's whereabouts. As for Laeral Silverhand being in the Well of Darkness, that was a clue Valentia found at Twelve Trees."
The All-Seeing—Savras—was Faerûn's god of prophecy. He possessed many titles, such as the King of Prophecy and the Third Eye. Though this Faerûnian deity of lesser power was not particularly strong, he was immensely famous throughout Faerûn.
That was thanks to an artifact, the renowned Scepter of Savras. After Netheril fell, the gods of the realms became embroiled in the conflict of the Dawn Cataclysm, which foreshadowed the devastation caused by the gods' descent during the Year of Shadows. Gods died in the struggle, shaking the entire realm. New gods arose, while the goddess of fortune, Tyche, split into Tymora and Beshaba. Amid that chaos, Mystra watched mages compete for divinity and, at different times, elevated two deities to assist her.
