Solam's words left the Queen of Chaos unable to refute him, because he was telling the truth. The Rod of Seven Parts really had been forged specifically to counter Miska the Wolf-Spider; it was not much of a threat to anyone else. Just as Solam had said, if it truly were that powerful, things would actually be much simpler.
Seeing that the Queen of Chaos said nothing, Solam continued to press his advantage.
"We can sign a River Styx contract. I can guarantee that, so long as you do not move against me, I will absolutely not use the Rod of Seven Parts against Miska the Wolf-Spider! You can make the terms as harsh as you like; I have no objections. You can rest easy now, right?"
The Queen of Chaos remained silent for a long while before finally relenting. "Since you know the Rod of Seven Parts is not that powerful, why are you so determined to obtain it? You could ask for other terms. I have quite a few other things here..."
"No, no, no. It has to be the Rod of Seven Parts! Its strength has nothing to do with it! I never intended to use that thing to accomplish anything. What I want is a countermeasure! Do you understand? You keep talking about cooperation, but from beginning to end, I have found that this cooperation is not fair! Though it may seem that I have benefited from it so far, you and I both know that is bullshit! Between us, you hold the absolute initiative! You cooperate when you want to cooperate, and turn hostile when you want to turn hostile. But what about me? Just like when you demanded my cooperation earlier, I was not actually satisfied with your offer, yet I still agreed. Why?
