Previously, it was said that Solam's return would affect the forces under his command. Next came Solam's impact on the whole of Faerun.
It was funny, really. Although Solam had gone through quite a few adventures, he genuinely did not think he was all that famous. Of course, this was not humility on Solam's part. He had always been the type to act reserved—someone who claimed not to care about fame, yet secretly felt delighted whenever people praised him to his face. If possible, he naturally hoped his deeds would spread throughout Faerun.
Unfortunately, Faerun's dreadful efficiency in spreading information shattered Solam's dream of becoming famous quickly into pieces. There was no helping it. Aside from a few major organizations, most people in Faerun had very limited channels through which to receive news from the outside world. There were no newspapers or televisions here, after all. Those bards had taken everything Solam had done, given it outrageously exaggerated artistic treatment, and sung about it everywhere. As a result, Solam had shot straight into the spotlight, and his fame was now enormous.
In truth, the bards did not even need to embellish things much. Many of Solam's deeds were already outrageous enough.
For example, in the sinful land of Calimshan, Solam had started from nothing and built up an entire street. That street had now become a famous money-burning
