Aftermath

That day, the Church of Tyr experienced both joy and alarm. The joy came naturally from everything that had just happened, which had elevated the Church of Tyr's influence in Athkatla to unimaginable heights. After all, so many people had witnessed the miracle with their own eyes, and after several centuries, the Church of Tyr had once again produced a saint. There was no doubt that this greatly strengthened the church as a whole.

The alarm came because Alfred was not dead! And after awakening, Saint Weslan's most important task was to continue hunting this divine vampire before he caused even greater trouble!

This concerned Weslan's redemption! Weslan had to kill Alfred, or his soul would be unable to return to the divine realm. For a devout believer, that was undoubtedly the most painful punishment in the world. Though Weslan had chosen the path of the Avenger, he still held the most devout faith in Tyr deep within his heart! Therefore, if given the chance, he would not give up.

At the same time, Tyr revealed Alfred's true danger to the church. Alfred wanted to ascend to godhood! Tyr issued a divine decree: no matter what, a vampire god must never be allowed to appear on Toril. He would be a threat to all intelligent life!

Tyr also disclosed some specific information about Alfred, and it scared the Church of Tyr into breaking out in a cold sweat! They did not even dare imagine what this world would face if that unkillable being ascended to godhood.

After the Church of Tyr informed the other churches of this news, the entire religious establishment was stunned. They had practically sacrificed their future, yet in the end, they had still let the greatest danger escape. How could the churches possibly accept that?
