But none of that mattered. What mattered was that these things had shown Asmodeus a new world—an entirely new universe! Anywhere in the multiverse where intelligent beings existed, they could not escape the devils' gaze. Wherever evil arose, devils would inevitably be drawn to it. Yet no matter how Asmodeus searched, he could not find the world displayed in those images.

Thus, Asmodeus guessed that those images came from an entirely new universe!

What did an entirely new universe mean? Asmodeus scarcely needed to think about it. It meant that if he could find that world, he would no longer need to be bound by the Pact Primeval! He could become a god! He could plunder souls without restraint, allowing the devils' power to expand without limit, then crush chaos completely and rule the entire multiverse!

What sent Asmodeus into even greater ecstasy was that he had seen no gods in those images. There were legends of godlike beings, but those were merely fantasies invented by ordinary people, not true gods at all.

That convinced Asmodeus that, in that universe—or at least in the world shown in those images—there were no gods! A world without gods! To Asmodeus, it was practically land bestowed by heaven!

In the multiverse, every plane, even a newborn one, had gods. Though they might be primitive gods newly born into existence, as long as they were gods, Asmodeus was bound by the contract not to occupy those worlds. Therefore, Asmodeus had virtually no hope of possessing a world that truly belonged to devils within the multiverse.

Moreover, the soul bound within this crystal sphere offered more than just those benefits. What truly drove Asmodeus mad was that the soul within carried an aura of eternity!!!!
