Background

The Demon Sword resides within Ning Xiaochuan's heart and is intensely drawn to blood. When Blood Accumulation Elixir stimulates it, it assaults his Heart Aperture; the resulting struggle draws out Earth Martial Essence Qi hidden in Ning Xiaochuan's blood and rapidly advances his cultivation 16. It repeatedly saves his life by absorbing blood and plundering Blood Accumulation Elixir 22.

The sword is not the true World Extinction Sword. It is a subordinate sword created from a wisp of Sword Qi from that main sword, allowing a distant connection between the two 127. Through this link, Sui Hanyu—the third-generation successor of the World Extinction Path—can manifest an image on the blade and communicate with Ning Xiaochuan while her true body remains sealed within the true World Extinction Sword 47 127.

Ning Xiaochuan initially suffers severe mental backlash whenever he uses it: bloodshot eyes, escalating murderous impulses, and a desire to destroy all life. He recognizes that continued use could turn him into the sword's slave 197. After reconstructing its body with his own blood and World Extinction Qi, he gains far greater control and no longer needs to fear backlash to the same extent 431.

The sword later develops from a Ninth Grade Profound Weapon into a Supreme Weapon through Weapon Marrow, blood absorption, and Thunder Tribulation 512 836 884 945. In Guixu, Sui Hanyu ultimately hands Ning Xiaochuan the true World Extinction Demon Sword, whose potential is stated to be capable of destroying a universe 1026.

The Demon Sword is a blood-red weapon surrounded by demonic mist and scarlet Sword Qi.
